Hi All,
I recently purchased a Fitbit Sense and while it’s working quite well in most instances the GPS record for runs is not accurate with regards to distance and pace (actual map appears spot on). I’m reasonably sure my phone, an IPhone 12, is accurate as it matches external tracking (e.g race chips). The distance is off by up to half a kilometer and the pace over 30 seconds off. I’m happy to share maps and paces with dev. Also, if the Sense can default to phone gps let me know.
thanks! As I said the Sense appears to work well otherwise. Heart rate seems accurate based on other measures I’ve used… just wish the distance and pace worked correctly.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SeaninRI.
Thank you for informing us about the GPS issues you experienced with your Fitbit Sense.
Your Watch has built-in GPS only. In this, I would recommend following the troubleshooting steps in this article in the menu "How do I get my Fitbit device to connect to GPS?".
In addition, you can restart your Sense by following these instructions.
Hope this helps.

Hello -
I followed the steps in the article, and recently took a firmware update, to test my Sense’s GPS. Unfortunately, it looks like the problem persists. I am seeing slight gains in accuracy and time, but the gps on my Sense is still off by about .25 to .5 kilometers and 10 to 25 seconds pace.
I will keep wearing my Fitbit, it’s great at everything except GPS, but I do hope future updates solve this issue.

the same happens to me. For comparison, I turned on my smartphone GPS and started a short walk together with Fitbit Sense. In the end, the Smartphone marked 750 meters and Sense 530 meters, the steps were very close with Smartphone marking 1123 and Sense 1140. This difference with GPS increases as the distance is greater, yesterday I ran 3.56 miles and Sense showed 2.18 miles. This occurred for me after the last update to 44.128.6.17

Ugh yes! I’ve been training with my sense and I was getting suspicious that it wasn’t pacing me properly. I always used to run with my strava app on my phone and my phone tucked into my pocket. I started both the run exercise using the gos on the sense as well as my strava app and the results were wildly different! The pace per km on strava was 5:45 seconds and on Fitbit it was 7:10. I can’t figure it out.
