I have a Sense as of a couple of hours ago. Got the firmware update finished. GPS won't connect in the exercise app. Tried rebooting the Sense. It still won't connect.
On device GPS was one of my primary reasons for buying this. It edged out the Apple Watch due to battery life. But, if I have to choose between a better health watch with awesome battery life, and a good health watch I have to charge daily but the GPS works.. I'm afraid I'd have to finally leave the fitbit ecosystem and go full on Apple.
I'm finally able to get it to connect, but it will show "GPS Connecting" at the top of the screen for quite awhile before it eventually connects. Much slower to connect then my Charge 3 would take to connect to the GPS on my phone over bluetooth.
This is something they definitely need to improve.
My experience with the Sense GPS is similar. It seems as though the GPS takes up to 4 minutes to make a connection! When it finally connects, it appears as though the precision of the track is very crude. When I used the connected GPS function of my VERSA the connection took only a few seconds and the tracking map was very precise (using an IPhone GPS).
This is really a problem. Can we default to a connected GPS mode like the Versa? It appears as though the Sense does not have a good antenna?
When the Sense arrives it has no context so the first time it can take a while to make the GPS connection. After it has made the initial connection subsequent connections will usually be much quicker. - See: https://www.lifewire.com/time-to-first-fix-ttff-1683313
Mine also took a long time to connect the first time but is much faster now.
