when I booted up my iPhone 10 this AM and opeded Fitbit, I got the banner page saying "Get the Update!" etc., but I couldn't figure any way to actually download it. What's the trick here anyway?

At least you aren’t alone! 🙂 Same happened to me, and when I go to check for an update it says “Sense up to date”.
i can’t wait til we get the update!
it will turn our watches into what we actually purchased. 🥰

So, where are these lucky Folks that have been lucky enough to be able to download the new wonder update. I certainly haven't seen it here in Western North Carolina.

Hi @WehuttyWanker there is no trick to downloading any firmware update. These are released on a rolling basis, so it will come to you. You'll see it on the app when you can download it.
@Beezy1978 and @Rachelm2hm it will be available to you, too. I'm not sure customer support or the Moderators know which areas are receiving it, but it will arrive.

As @Odyssey13 said it's a staged rollout. My guess would be if you had a banner but the update was not available, it probably got pulled out/paused. It happens when there are issues. I haven't received mine yet either.

Probably there are way too many bugs in this update even the update process is buggy.

At least you got the banner suggesting a sense update could be downloaded. My app still says I'm up to date with the older firmware 44.128.1.42. All I wanted was a smart watch/fitness tracker that had the features it was advertised with. Waiting for months for advertised features to be rolled out makes me feel like a beta tester. Having the ability to force an update would be mighty fine.

I believe a lot of people are confusing the full screen splash announcement of the OS update with the actual banner announcement that the update is available for your device to download.

Hope they are paying you to be a "beta tester".

They are busy complaining the volume isn’t loud enough on the watch. 😉😆

Yep, this is why. It was a full-screen banner instead of a little one at the top. Confusing to do, I wonder why?
I will wait.
Good things come to those who wait. 🌹

Woke up this morning to the update banner and what do you know? I have the latest firmware on my Sense now. SpO2 is still lame as this is only viewable from a watch face after sleeping with the device on your wrist (non premium member so no access to the health metrics dashboard on app). I'm yet to take a call on the Sense so can't comment on that feature. Having no friends is so lonely so will have to wait for a spam call.

I friend requested you, Mark!
also, you can see your spo2 recording without Premium. Go to your sleep log, open your night, and scroll all the way down. It’s a little graph. My husband gets it even on his Versa 2 with no Premium.
good luck!
hope to see you on Fitbit.

Hi Beezy1978. Thanks for the advice. I believe the graph under the sleep section is oxygen variation, measured through my nights beauty sleep. I was kind of hoping for a figure like the watch face shows, around 95% I would hope.
Can you send the friend request again please? I can't find it on my phone 😉

Ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, it doesn’t display the numbers, does it. 😞 I’m sorry! I hope they start including that soon.
Will re-send request.
See you around! 🙂

Fitbit want £8 per month to display spo2 in the app. Something other fitness trackers offer for free. I really can't bring myself to pay that much for so little.
