Has Fitbit Sense monitors proactively for Afib during sleep

Hi Everyone,

I am wondering whether to buy Fitbit Sense as I am looking for a device which actively ( not only making EKG measure by pressing the buttons on-demand) monitors for Afib events and reports them ( for example during sleep ) . I am a little puzzled by the official documentation regarding this feature as on one hand it says that Afib can be spotted only during such on-demand EKG test ( for 30 seconds ) but on the other hand it says that it monitors for Afib events during sleeping .

In addition is it known when EKG feature will be available for using in Bulgaria ?

  Thanks in advance.

   Regards,

   Valeri

Hello @Valeri123 and welcome to the Community.  There are two features that look at your heart rhythm.  The Sense and Charge 5 have the hardware to run the 30 second ECG.  The Irregular Rhythm Notifications use the heart rate LEDs and are on several devices.  The Irregular Rhythm Notifications are very new.  The ECG app is the older feature.  Maybe its documentation needs an update.  If you have a link for a Fitbit site that is incorrect, please share it, and I can forward the error to Fitbit.  Many users confuse the two features.  There might be subtle word choice causing confusion.

Both features are medically regulated.  They needed FDA approval for release in the US.  They must be approved by the equivalent regulatory body in Bulgaria.  No one knows if that will happen.  I don't think you should buy a Sense for the ECG/heart rhythm features.
