Heart Rate accuracy

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Sense's heart rate accuracy is way off and very unreliable. One day I was able to take my heart rate all the way up to 110-115 bpm while doing a brisk walk. Today I tried my very first elliptical workout and tried real hard and it struggled to measure anything above 99 bpm (I was gasping for air and still didn't log anything meaningful). I have been working out on same elliptical same resistance settings and using apple watch it was quiet consistent and same effort would clock my heart rate between 180-140 based on resistance and would average out at 160 bpm. I am giving up on this half-baked device and is going back. This device definitely not ready for prime-time

Take a look at the attached screenshot for both workouts this doesn't make sense.Screenshot_20201005-184731_Fitbit.jpg

This is exactly what I found as well.  Going downstairs to see if I can get my replacement sense to work...Thanks.  Thought I had lost my mind.

Same problem for me.  I think the worst part is the helpline, which for me as always been stellar, was awful.  The person had no idea what he was talking about.  Total lack of knowledge.  I jumped back on line to see if there is a setting that I have incorrect.  Looks like the watch has a MAJOR flaw! Hey, glad you gave me skin temp but who cares!  Was a great product.  I converted a lot of people over the year.  Bummer.  Hope they get it corrected.

This is an issue, pointed out by many reviewers, that Fitbit just doesn't want to acknowledge. If only they'd say "Yes, there is a problem, we're working on a fix, hang tight" I would be able to stay. But as a long term customer that has had many Fitbits over the last 7 years, I'm going to have to depart their ecosystem and go somewhere else. Their customer service has also gone down hill in addition to their products' performance; it's changed from, "we're sorry you're having this issue, there must be a fault with your device, we'll send you a new one" to "you must be wearing the watch wrong, its faultless". Here are my comparisons:Screenshot 2020-11-09 at 17.01.19.pngScreenshot 2020-11-09 at 17.01.35.png

Thank you for saying exactly what I feel! At least some acknowledgment from Fitbit would be nice. I, too, have been a loyal customer but am about to go elsewhere. It’s too late to return my Sense so that’s $300+ down the drain. A simple acknowledgment Fitbit, that’s all we’re asking for!

Same issue here. Just got the new sense after my Charge started the same issue a few weeks ago. Today i did the EXACT same work out as i did last monday & my calories burned was off by over 100, and i was below zone for most of the workout, which I know I was not at all.

Long time customer here as well, but I returned my Sense. By the way, if you do return anything for a refund, call and let them know the tracking number, even though they don't ask you to do that. When 2 weeks went by with no refund, I called them, and they claimed the delay was due to the fact that I had not given them the tracking number. Shortly after that, the refund was processed.

Moved on to an Apple watch. Battery life is horrible, but the heart rate is the most accurate I've ever seen.

I'm finding that its not even accurate when resting. My heart rate is off by 8 to 10 beats per minute when comparing it 2 my versa or even charge 3 that I put on my opposite wrist just to test it.  Very frustrating given how much this watch cost

It’s crazy! I did absolutely nothing yesterday. Nothing but read and hang out in my house. It said I had 103 zone minutes and a ridiculous number of steps. Today I have 4 zone minutes. So what’s accurate? I took a survey from Fitbit and explained the issue we’re having but have heard nothing.

Got tired of the problem and of Fitbit's handling of it (or lack thereof), and I returned my third and final Sense (thankfully all through Amazon).

Earlier on, I had gotten folks on the phone to sort-of admit there was a problem, as they asked me to be patient, stopping short of suggesting a fix was imminent. The OS update was then released, and there was no way to load it on-demand. In essence, one had to wait for the app to notify you, and mine wasn't doing that for days. When I called, they couldn't even tell me whether the "long-awaited" OS update would fix the HR problem.

More time went by, and the next time I called, I spoke with a supervisor. A prior post in which I described what happened in more detail was actually blocked by the censor police on here, but I'll just say that this person insulted me (literally did; I'm sure the call was recorded), has no business dealing with customers, and most importantly, has little knowledge of the product or how it is supposed to work. Among other things, she suggested that if three Senses had this problem, then I must be the issue. Ok... I guess she doesn't read these postings.

It is very upsetting to write this, as I would've liked to stay with Fitbit (almost 8 years at this point). I am currently using an Ionic I had bought just before the Sense was released. Ironically, this, too, is a replacement, also due to HR issues (which incidentally, are not resolved). This one fails a bit differently than the Sense, and it is more accurate overall (i.e., I can occasionally go on a walk and get an accurate reading), but it still has problems (also documented on here by many folks).

A real shame... I am loyal to a fault, but Fitbit has left me little choice here.

I had the Active 2 for a week and couldn't take the massive battery drain/slow charge times.  It took 2 hours to bring it to full charge even after going to 10% after a little more than 24 hours.   You're right about the Samsung phone issues, too.  I did my research and saw nothing about needing a Samsung phone to unlock certain features.  I was disappointed, for sure, because it fits well and the GPS sensitivity is much better than in the Sense (which I've had for the past week).   I haven't noticed an issue with HR on the Sense yet, but I'll see how it performs in the next week or two.  Bought it at COSTCO, so returns would be easy.

I really like my Fitbit Sense but extremely disappointed and frustrated after each workout. That's an average difference between Polar and Sense. Really?

I wish I could share with you the issues I have been having with Fitbit since October of last year - issues were noted one month after receiving my sense and all of the B/S I have had to endure to have them say they would replace it
Fitbit is not the company it use to be after Google bought it- this is the last time with Fitbit with me
