How do I keep the Sense screen on?

I need to keep screen on for some tasks, for instance a timer for while I'm working out (e.g. can't move my arms easily, because I'm doing a plank & my wrist is turned away). My Sense is set to activate on motion.

I understand I can change the screen timeout (seems stupid, I don't want to screen to stay on most other times), or keep tapping the screen every N seconds (this gets annoying really fast).

Feels like previous models had some shortcuts (something like hold a button while turning the wrist away from face)

@Fry-kun There's an option to turn on always-on while tracking a workout. Scroll to the bottom.

Are you wanting the screen to always be on while you work out?  If I am correct, Consider switching screen to always on during workouts and then back to motion activation afterwards.

Hi, @Fry-kun  if you are not recording an exercise but simply timing a task, try the SimpleTimer app from the gallery, it has an optional stay on feature and also displays the time while counting and many other advantages, such as remembering 4 presets and the active one, with Repeat, Auto Start,  as well as Auto cancel alert for repeat timers. If you use it in conjunction with the SimpleClockPro clock face it will run in background. The button will do start and pause, more useful when using the stop watch

Thanks, tried SimpleTimer just now - it doesn't keep the screen on (enabled S mode)

@Fry-kun  - Only when timing - to save battery when not timing. There is no reason to be in a timer when not timing and it will switch back to clock face automatically.

Otherwise when not using timer swipe watch face right to get to Quick Settings and enable Always On icon and wrist wake.

The timer was running when I tried it. 20sec after I turned it away from my face, the screen turned off

@Fry-kun  - it will stay on while watching it during timing. If you lower your arm or cover the screen it no longer needs be on.

Tested it, It will come back on if you raise your wrist or after 7 seconds.

It does need to be on for me. When I turn it back toward my face, it's not a full turn, so the screen doesn't wake up. Otherwise it's useless.

On wrist, Settings > Display > Always-on Display

Oops, I see @eezeepee already gave you a probably better solution.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
