How do I make calls on Sense?

I can receive calls, but I’ve tried a few times to make a call with the Google Assistant. But each time I say call so and so from my contacts it says sorry I can’t make calls yet. Anyone know how to fix this or if there’s supposed to be an update coming to add this feature? I have the Fitbit Sense and iPhone 11 Pro Max. TIA.

No I take both incoming and outgoing calls through my watch I was on a call on my watch in my kitchen and my phone was in my bedroom it can pick up calls within so many feet through Bluetooth yes my voice call will open on my phone but I can still chat through my watch in different rooms

I'm glad to hear this, before the last firmware update, we could not do outgoing calls through the tracker.

I was able to make calls once I changed from alexia to Google assistant as I think alexia is more for music and things like that though I could be wrong

Our team constantly works on our devices to improve their features, as well as your experience with them. For this reason, please vote for this idea requested in the Feature Suggestions board. The more votes an idea receives, the better chance it has of getting the attention of the developers.

In the meantime, please give a try to the great suggestions shared by @Tracy7873 so you can use Google Assistant to make your phone calls.

You open Google assistant on your sense and just say call mum as an example the person u want to call

I don’t see why not. If the tech is there why not utilize it? It may be convenient for people in certain circumstances. We can take calls on the watch so why not be able to make them?

User's report that with Google assistant they can make calls.

@Garrison64 we can't because fitbit did not out the then required Tech in..

Yes it works with Alexa just make sure Alexa has permission to use your contact list

You can make them I open goggle assistant on my fitbit and just say call Sister and it does

You can use either Alexa or goggle assistance but Alexa must have permission to use your contacts hope this help

Only downside is you can't speak into your watch to have the conversation. So if for example you're in an emergency situation and can't reach the phone, even in speakerphone mode, it may be too far away or covered by debris for the person on the other end to hear you. It's better than nothing, but being able to have a phone conversation through the watch would be a huge safety feature.

HI there I can make calls and answer them on my sense only thing I need to do is turn the volume up as long as your phone is within a certain distance you can answer from your watch I was in my dining room my phone was in my bedroom and I was able to have a conversation on it 1 thing I did notice if you have like a contact name say June and another contact with June H when I ask Google to call June it will ask me which June 😁

Yes you can start a call from the wrist, but unlike when receiving a call, you can talk and listen through the tracker. 

I answer calls from my wrist a lot, even when I'm over 50 feet from the phone. 

Can you make a call and speak, without yelling, to the party called when you are 50-75 feet away from the phone?

Hello all,

I got a new Sense watch 2 weeks ago.

I encounter the exact same issue, using iPhone 11 and Google Assistant mainly from Belgium.

I see some people are able to call (with call happening through the phone vs Sense which makes the feature unfortunately impractical and non useful).

For those where it works, would it be possible to specify if you are using iPhone or Android, and if you are located in the US or abroad?

I wonder if the problem relates to the geographical zone from where calls are made.

It would be great to improve this. Being able to call from and throughout the Sense can be very useful in particular contexts (e.g. when skiing).
