How do I sync Sense to MacBook?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As advised, installed Fitbit Connect on my MacBook. At the end, it asks for the model of Fitbit that I use. There is no provision for Fitbit Sense. Now what?

Also, how to download the latest update on my Sense?

@FitbitUser1112   I'm sorry, but the Sense isn't compatible with Fitbit Connect.  You need a compatible iPhone (requires iOS 13 minimum) or Android (requires Android 8 minimum).

It is strange that Fitbit Connect is not compatible with the most expensive offering from Fitbit. My iPhone has iOS 15.1, so that is not a problem.

@FitbitUser1112   Fitbit has been moving away from Mac/PC setup and sync for some time now.  Fitbit Connect hasn't been updated since 2018.  If I remember correctly, Fitbit stopped using Fitbit Connect for setup/sync when it released the Charge 3.

Who advised you to download Fitbit Connect?  And to clarify one thing, even if your Sense were compatible with Fitbit Connect, you set it up with your phone and it is on your account.  You wouldn't need to set it up on your MacBook.  That's how "this stuff worked" back then.  Also, if you get notifications from your phone, there is a tight Bluetooth bond between your Sense and your iPhone.  It won't sync with your MacBook.

If I may respond to your questions:

“Who advised you to download Fitbit Connect?”

Well – there were at least two suggestions on the Fitbit Community that I should download Fitbit Connect.

You suggest that Fitbit Connect for Mac has not been operational for some time. However, it still appears in Google Search. If it were non-operational, I would hope that Fitbit would remove it so that we don’t get misled. Also, I am migrating from the Windows platform, and I have been using a Fitbit app on my Surface for several years, so I assumed that it would be operational on the Mac, particularly once I was advised to use it by members of the Fitbit Community.

@FitbitUser1112   I looked at your profile and older posts, trying to find out who gave you this advice.  I couldn't find anything.  I browse the forums regularly.  I would have added on to any post that the Sense isn't compatible with Fitbit Connect if I had seen one.  This is a moderated, user-to-user Community.  Sometimes people give incorrect advice.

I didn't suggest that Fitbit Connect is non-operational.  Fitbit moved to mobile phone setup/sync.  Fitbit Connect is still listed available because there are older devices, still in use, that can use Fitbit Connect to sync.  You also need Fitbit Connect if you have a Fitbit model that can store personal music, not to sync, but to transfer music.

Fitbit moved away from Mac/PC setup without making any kind of announcement.  All of the recent models need a compatible Android/iPhone.
