Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community, @Irish57.

Thanks for your question.

I would recommend following the tips in this article in the menu "How do I improve the accuracy of a heart-rate reading?".

In addition, you can restart your Fitbit Sense by following these instructions.

I would like to mention that if you are using an elliptical with static arms or with no arms, we cannot guarantee accurate readings because the Fitbit Sense has been tested and designed to track the traditional elliptical machine.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, this elliptical machine has arms that move which is part of the
work out. I so want this to work as I lose all my zone minutes yet
elliptical reads with the built in heart rate monitor on average 40 above
my Sense. It is defeating to me to see lesser values when I work so hard.

@Irish57 I have the same problem on the rowing machine.

@EdsonFitbit I have read and followed all the guidelines and nothing works.

@EdsonFitbit ,thank you for your response, but I have called, chatted and gotten in touch though messanger about the heart rate inaccuracy and so far no solution. Without an accuract heart rate all other data is flawed.  The steps are fairly accurate on the rowing machine, so don't have that problem.

Wouldn't this fall in line with the heart rate issue we've know about a while now?

I've had that problem starting 3 Fitbit ago. My original charge 2 used to be accurate for the elliptical, I thought maybe it was getting old when it seemed like I was getting less and less steps so I upgraded to a versa2, well it wasn't the charge 2 age that effected it apparently, now sense is the same. I don't know how 200 strides per minute average which keeps my heart rate at the level my cardiologist allows does not get me 6000 steps agreed an hour.

For steps, just attach it to your shoe.

Yes, but it’s also about the steps. If I do a mile plus it is more than 800
steps??

@Irish57 Maybe try testing by getting in the elliptical without putting the watch in exercise mode and see what kind of steps you're getting? My guess is your arm isn't moving enough to get a lot of steps?
