Sense's wrong heart rate tracking is now well documented. There are many threads on this forum and many external articles and reviews. What is Fitbit doing about this? Going into denial as far as I can tell.
I thought it would be good to post here the answers we got from support. Here's mine: I had a Versa which was tracking accurately and which I checked against a chest strap so have plenty of data to compare. The answer from support is utterly ridiculous: the agent is suggesting that I should change heart rate zones insisting that the tracking is improved.
Ariel:I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Sense isn't tracking your heart rate accurately. Let me see what I can do to help.
Ariel:Please give me a couple of minutes to check.
Me:ok
Ariel:Thank you for waiting.
Ariel:You might notice slight variations between your heart-rate reading on your new Fitbit Sense compared with your old ones due to improvements in the heart rate sensor and algorithm.
Ariel:In this case, what we can recommend is to create a custom zones instead of using the 3 HR zones.
Ariel:You can create a custom zone to target a specific heart rate in the app or online dashboard.
Ariel:Tap the Today tab in the app and tap your profile picture > Heart Rate Zones.
Ariel:From there, you'll be able to enter your custom zone.
Ariel:If you're on your computer, you can do it here: https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile

I think we're one step away from them suggesting you should have heart surgery so that your real body fits the Sense's output more accurately. Ridiculous.

Is that a conversation? I do not biest is it your creation? But I think heart surgery is a very difficult job.

Only way you gonna get Fitbit to listen is by return the product. They don’t care about the people that cannot return it. It’s the one can voice their opinions with their money.

After that chat, I contacted them again, and another person from support promised me that someone will be in touch via email. Surprise, surprise - it's been a week and no contact.

My polar H10 chest strap arrived today. So decided to take it for a test drive. Along with the sense and the Apple series 5 watch. Now all I went for was a walk round the neighbourhood. So was expecting to see fairly close results. Instead.
the iOS watch and the polar chest strap were mostly 5 away mainly about 1-2bmp. Whereas the sense was upto 20bmp either way!!!! Mainly on steep hills on flats it was about 5-10bpm difference.
anyone that keeps saying it’s acceptable to get a different bpm using a chest strap - needs their head checking. If I don’t hear anything from Fitbit about a potential fix. I’m contemplating on returning the watch.
oh and wearing it two/three fingers from the wristbone made no difference.
