Integration with Supernatural

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This has been an ongoing topic. The latest response from your company is you have what it takes for them to integrate, I contacted their support and this was their response as of this morning 9:09 am  2/6/2022 (PST)

"Thanks for reaching out!

I apologize for any delay in having Fitbit integration. We are working to add more compatible devices, but there is no set timeframe.

Please see the below recent comment from our CEO Chris Milk on the Fitbit integration:

"We would need Fitbit to allow some things on their end in order to get live HR data feeding into SN like other HR sensors currently do. We've now spoken to some very nice folks at Fitbit to explain what we’d need. We've even sent them Quests to try Supernatural out for themselves. We're hopeful they will come through for our shared members as Fitbit makes great products and we’d love to have them as a partner. Please do feel free to reach out to their customer service and let them know you’d love to be able to use their products in the brave new future of VR fitness. A future where you can no longer just look down at your physical wrist to check your HR."

Can your people please call their people and get this worked out. Your consumers, both sides, are begging you! Why are you both giving us excuses why you can't work together?

Please, please get this sorted out.

Thank you.

Hi @Cecarpluk777 - It would be great if Fitbit could reach out to all the third party apps/games/phones etc and work to make them all compatible. But that is more than what any company could expect to do (at least in my opinion). It has always been Fitbit’s stand that it is the responsibility of the third party to create and maintain a link to Fitbit if they want integration with Fitbit.

That said, it looks like you got some bad information from Supernatural. The official word is this:

Our (Fitbit) web API and smartwatch SDK are open which means that the service you are wanting can actually integrate with Fitbit. We’d encourage you to make this suggestion to the service and direct them to our existing API and SDK and resources such as the web dev API community. You will likely be able to email them via their contact us page or customer support, or they may have their own ideas board like this. Or encourage them to reach out to Fitbit directly.

This Feature Request has been posted to the Feature Suggestion forum. You can read more about it here. Even though the status is “Not Currently Planned, you can still add your vote to the idea and Fitbit will monitor the responses.

You may want to google this then reach out to Supernatural again.

@SunsetRunner Supernatural developers know what they are saying. What they need isn't available via any APIs that Fitbit offers. The feature they need is HR broadcasting so the watch can pair with their companion app (very same as it's done with Zwift or BKool workout games). Unfortunately, without Fitbit involvement the developers won't be able to support Fitbit if live HR broadcasting is essential to them.

Thanks for the update/correction, @t.parker . I was providing what I saw in a google search and Fitbit search. @Cecarpluk777 - I’d still go ahead and vote for the Feature Suggestion. If there is enough interest, Fitbit may decide to step in.

Thanks Carol,

I have voted for it, including the one that is over a year old. This is like working with some of the mental health app developers I have used. Many would like to be in the game but the developers do not supply what we, the end users need to create our session notes etc easily. End result, we ultimately find another app/platform that does what we need. Starting to think I may have to do the same here.  Really like Fitbit but, honestly LOVE supernatural. If I have to choose... I'm going to have a new smarter  watch. IJS...

(Moderators will probably delete this post like they did my last one that mentioned going elsewhere.  That's okay. If they do tells me volumes).

Have a great evening.

I agree with @t.parker: many features requests posted in the related section of this forum have been closed by the moderator with the same wording quoted by @SunsetRunner while the API are absolutely not targeting what it is required.

UPDATE:here it's the proper feature request, closed by @YojanaFitbit without properly checking the API she mentioned.
