Hello everyone
I had a Versa 2 but returned it for the new sense. I just started getting into jumping rope and was wondering if there is an auto recognize for that type of workout. Not not is there a way to track it?
Also do you think it would at least record my steps during the jump roping?
Thanks!
There is no auto-recognized jumping rope, but it might recognize it as aerobic workout or elliptical. You will only know by trying it out.
As for steps, they depend on wrist movement. I would guess it would register either 1 or 2 steps with each rope rotation, but again you will just have to try it and see what happens. But regardless of whether it gets steps right, remember calorie burn depends on heart rate so you should get that right even if not steps.
Best AnswerMy Sense is not auto recognizing any of my workouts. My Alta HR used to. Now if I manually log my workout during that time it seems to pickup heart rate (not steps though). Somethings wrong.
Best Answer@steveojp I have the same question. I started skipping rope (20 skips) and it counted as aproxima 200 steps and 1 floor, but not as any activity. I’m new to Fitbit and will try again. If you do too, pls let me know the outcome. There are not many posts about jumping rope with Fitbit sense in the community.
thanks!
Best Answer@MariZ. I returned my Sense a while ago and I went back to my Apple Watch. It just works better plus there's so many jump rope apps on there. Fitbit is very behind on a lot of things. Good luck!
Best AnswerOpen your fitbit app.
Tap the exercise tile.
Tap the setting cog that is found in the top corner.
On the next page their is a list of what exercises your tracker is able to detect. As @JohnnyRow points out jump rope is not one of them.
A workaround would be to use the manual workout mode, then after a sync the exercise can be renamed.
Best AnswerFit bit needs to get jumprope as an option. EVERY fitness app carries it - and those of us that link to MyFitnessPal are not so pleased.
Fitbit is very behind in so many thing. I already returned my Fitbit and went back to my Apple Watch..it can do everything I want it to.
Best AnswerBoth the Xiaomi Mi Band and the Huawei Band count jump rope steps and both are significantly cheaper than the Fitbit.
