No, if Bluetooth cannot connect between the phone and the watch it cannot send/receive the notifications.  However, I have had many occurrences where when I walk back into the Bluetooth range of the phone the watch will start vibrating and displaying the notifications.

It can at least display a notification that the Bluetooth's connection has been broken.

It's just that out of 5 fitness trackers that I had so far, only fitbit does not offer it.

This would require the watch to periodically ping for the phone. My trackers never show as connected but only as a trusted device.

That's sort of the point, @Rich_Laue , and why we have constant sync issues. My Samsung watch vibrates when I walk to far from my phone (and break the Bluetooth connection

Starting to wonder if Fitbit devices intentionally drop the connection to extend battery life, if only be a few percentage points over the course a day or so.

I think some 3rd part watch faces might offer this (although it might only be a visual indication), I'm not sure how well it would work though.

Out of curiosity, how far can you generally get from your phone before the bluetooth cuts out?

It seems to be just a couple of feet.  I was hoping that if I left my phone on the charger that the sense would keep me notified.  But that has not been the case.

😮  Is that all?? Gosh, even my cheap headphones stay connected 12 metres away from my phone.

My Sense is meant to be delivered tomorrow and with all the other let-downs people are reporting (i.e. no music storage or offline Spotify) I've been seriously considering returning it for a refund without even opening the box. If it's really only a couple of feet then that's a deal breaker and I'll be returning it for the Samsung galaxy 3 watch.

Mine still sends notifications with the phone upstairs and me downstairs. I'm not sure how many feet that is, but it's one floor and and a wall. I often reply to notifications with the voice dictation, which works pretty well.

Many times I'll her notifications at the front half  of a mall store while the phone is in their backroom.

My point is that normally the bluetooth receiver is only listening for a request and does not keep an active connection. And yes thisci sc so the watch does not need to be charged once a day  This is the same with your phone, you turn on a pair of trusted headphones amd the phone connects them.
