Hi all,
Is it possible to choose on sense to use phone GPS instead of Sense GPS?
the problem is the sense gps is very bad, normally I loose 500 meters to 700 meters in runs of 6 km, compared with track with versa 2 or Fitbit app directly or Runkeeper. This is a circuit of running and the distance are ok for versa 2, FitBit app and Runkeeper, but when I use sense the tracking is bad and normally the registered run are not close with the real path.
This issue are know about gps accuracy? And because the phone GPS have a better accuracy can we switch for this?
I am very disappointed with the sense at the level of this type of record, and with the fitbit own supporter who has been impossible to contact.
PS: doesn’t exists labels for this type of topic

Yes. If you run in city and build up areas, it is totally useless. I am using the app to record track and the watch to record other metrics in parallel now. That is the only workable solution at the moment

I noticed that when I have the gps on the Sense messes up the heart rate monitor when I bike outside.
Maybe it stresses the already weak processor and then the heart rate gives innacurate values. I was also looking ways to deactivate the GPS on the Sense. Maybe it will solve this problem.
I deactivated Alexa, now the gps. What comes next ?

Why did you deactivate Alexa?

The main difference between the I one and the Sense is the size of the antenna.
Currently no the Sense can only use it's built in GPS

Still figuring things out but i use the Phones GPS though the fit bit app
On the App from phone, I hit Exercises then in the Upper right hand corner there is a stop watch which activates the phones GPS and tracking feature
Its pretty cool.
The only thing I can't figure out is when i go back and look at the results of the Hike, fit bit tracks everything really well except it always says "not enough heart rate data" when looking at heart zones.
I am not having any of the Heart rate issues like everyone else is seems to be having, as I also track and import data from My Fitness Pal and Fit Bit reads and process the heart rate zone quite extensively and properly, the same as i can see while hiking

Starting exercise on phone doesn't trigger exercise mode on the watch.
Under normal conditions, it takes a heart reading every 5 seconds. When in exercise mode, it takes it like every second.

My own experience with the Sense GPS is quite positive. Have been taking the same route periodically for the past 20 years and various and sundry devices ... notably phone gps and polar and runkeeper apps have consiistently given me great benchmark distance points. My Sense is right on with the historical values. I recently did my route using the Sense and a Polar H10 and Polar app linked to a Pixel 3 phone. GPS data was amazingly consistantly right on over a 5 mile route. I couldn't ask for more.
That said, there is much that isn't right with the Sense at the moment. I'm personally disappointed with the device, but the GPS accuracy is not one of my gripes.

Thanks Chucky, that makes sense, Since I am not a fan of using GPS on my watch as I Hike for 10-12 hours at a time I do not like the drain on my watch battery, So I like using the Phones GPS, like I said I use Fit bit and map My Run to communicate and gives me the heart data I like to see. Even though its not all in one place.
Although now that you put it that way I will try to use to Watches GPS on smaller hikes just to learn more about the watch.
Also FWIW
I see a lot of people complain about Sense But I have been a Fit bit user since 2014 and I absolutly LOVE this watch and have no issue, its just a learning curve like all the other Fitbits I have owned.
