How can I keep my steps private or does Fitbit not care about user privacy?

Hi @Whateverr  you can set your privacy settings to where only you see your steps. You can also set it where only friends see your steps. If you join into any challenges or Fitbit bingo, everyone can see the steps. Fitbit does care, but leaves it to the individual as to how many others can see their activity.

Thank you for the reply Odyssey. I have friends who can see my daily steps and I would like to hide this information. Unfortunately my privacy settings only allow for changing this option from public to friends only.  I do not see an option for “only me”.

Thoughts?

Sorry, I was referring to the profile page where you can view how it looks to You, Anyone and Friends. You don't have to share your steps with friends, unless you want to. Challenges make it a bit harder to hide things, unless you don't do challenges with those same friends you don't want seeing your steps. Why worry about it? We don't all step the same amount of steps as others, but the main thing is to enjoy the steps we do take.

It’s the criticism that comes everyday for not meeting expectations. Regardless, it is what it is. Thanks for trying. Have a great day.

@Whateverr  it's sad but true and I wish it wasn't so. I was in several challenges with some super steppers and when I couldn't keep up with them, I found myself no longer invited to the challenges. From their point of view, I understand they wanted to be pushed to exceed their goals. Criticism is wrong on any level. I'm sorry this happened to you. Just don't give up! Beautiful spring day and time to check on my hyancinths!

What do you expect from a Google owned company

Hi @SunsetRunner  I think that @Whateverr was more unhappy at the negative remarks made by friends and not even Google could change that.

Then maybe, @Whateverr needs to change his circle of friends as true friends wouldn't be negative and criticise.
