Resting Heart Rate from Sense inaccurate (increasing)

Loyal Fitbit user for over 6 years.  Moved to Sense 3 months ago and Resting HR jumped 5-8 pts (10-15%) without changes in activity, lifestyle, etc.  And no correlation between Sleeping HR and Resting HR.  Sometimes they go down together, other times in different directions, and other times one changes but not the other.  All over the map.  Yet both numbers come in the morning, so should be based on the same dataset.

It's frustrating to see your Resting HR rise over 3 months without reason.  And a glance at the Boards show others are also seeing their Resting HR go up with the Sense.  It feels like the algorithm changed.  I called Fitbit and Corporate response was Sense is the most accurate measurement.  So I asked if that means everyone should expect to see their Resting HR increase with the Sense because our prior Resting HR data was lower than it is in reality.  But they would not confirm the correlation of Resting HR to prior products or explain the lack of correlation with Sleeping HR.  Very frustrating when Resting HR is one of the core metrics to track.

Again, loyal Fitbit user for over 6 years, but I am now considering to move to either to Apple or Garmin, which I never thought I would do.  Wanted to make one last plea for someone to explain to me why this is happening (or expected to happen) in a coherent way, how to correlate this to make sense of the data from my past Fitbit products, or how to think about the correlation between Sleeping and Resting HR.

Otherwise, after 6 years, I am out.  Please help!

I have the same wondering and curiosity. Fitbit had better explain their algorithm for RHR. If it's a secret, at least explaining some basic concepts or ideas, so that users wouldn't get confused.
