Screen black after update

I had a problem where my screen was crystal clear when on the clock face. But any text was missing letters, so there were "holes" in any writing. Obviously not a problem with the actual screen, as the clock face had no issues. I just installed the update, and now I can't see ANYTHING on the screen except the icons. Functionality is still there, I can scroll through through screens, but I can't see anything. Help!

*update* my clock face has returned. Crystal clear - but intermittent. The other screens still have NO text. Only the icons
