Sense Active Zone Minutes not matching Heart Rate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When viewing Target Heart Rate Zones for a specific day, it will show that I had my heart rate spike into fat burn and cardio, for example between HR 121- 153, for a period of time when I was exercising. But on that same graph, the Fat Burn zone minutes say 0. Same for the cardio & peak. It does not match what it is showing.

Hi @WilsonFitbit ; it would be better and more efficient if you share here the advice provided to @ymuravyova . That's the point of having these boards.

What is the resolution to this problem? I upgraded from a versa to a sense at Christmas and the sense is so inaccurate. I can do 60 minutes of HIIT and it shows majority of that below zones, how can this be? It shows my heart rate lower during exercise than my resting heart rate? I feel like going back to the versa, not impressed given the price of a sense. Can you please advise on how this can be fixed?

Hi @juancege @Auds0103 Welcome to the Community Forums!

@juancege @Auds0103 Let me explain that Heart rate zones are personalized based on your fitness level and age. For detailed information about Heart Rate zones, I recommend taking a look at this link: How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?

Also note that you earn 2 Active Zone Minutes for each minute you’re in the cardio or peak zones. You can also check:

What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device?

So, if you check through the link, for more intense workouts, such as spinning, interval training, or running, the number of Active Zone Minutes you earn might exceed the length of your workout. For example, if you go for a run for a total of 20 minutes and spend 10 minutes in the fat burn zone and 10 minutes in the cardio or peak zones, you earn 30 Active Zone Minutes.

The recommendation is to perform an intense workout for at least 10 minutes without stopping. If you stop, then it will not have credit for your active zone.

@Auds0103 Also note that Heart Rate can be affected by some factors like age, sex, sleep quality, stress, and lifestyle choices, such as nutrition and exercise. You can refer to the first link to learn more about how Heart Rate zones are calculated.

Keep me posted.

Thanks @WilsonFitbit for the clear explanation. My other concern is that the daily HRZ time and cals are not showing in the Today shortcut. They're always blank... It just shows the weekly HRZ averages.

Did you ever find a solution to the HRZ time and cals not showing? I am having this issue currently with my sense.
