Sense Battery

So just like many others, the battery in the Sense is ridiculous.

The thing in my case is, the battery drains even when the watch is shut down...?? I recently bought it new and loved it at first. Great screen and interesting features. Had the Charge 2 a few years ago so l figured why not upgrade. Then l noticed the battery draining pretty fast. So l charged it to 100%, shut it down, and left it for a day or two. Turned it on to find the battery at around 25%. I then decided to reset the watch and left it for less than a day.. ~70%.

So what's running while the watch is turned off? Does turning it on cost ~20% battery on its own? If the watch drains this fast while nothing is running then how long will it last if l actually used it as a fitness tracker? Going for a run with the GPS on would only last about 10 mins before giving up. What's with the 7-day battery life claim then? Not only this but it also takes a while for step count to update.

Is my watch defective? Or is the sense really this bad?

The Sense isn't really that bad. You're 100% sure it was shutdown? If it wasn't and you have SpO2 and snore and noise detection on, those kill a good amount of battery.

If it really was off, I would factory reset and see how it works after that.

Yes, it was 100% shut down. Under setting and shut down. I never installed SpO2, snore, or noise detection and don't use Fitbit when l sleep. If it really does kill that much battery then it wouldn't even last overnight, defeating the purpose of the app.

I already stated that l reset the device. Deleting all data and apps.

Sidenote, you're missing out on some good sleep tracking information.

I mistook your "reset" for "restart". It does sound like something defective. The one I'm using is from August 2020 and it's been just fine. With sleep tracking I lose about 9% in 7 hours.

It would be interesting to try the sleep tracking and 9% is not bad. I'm currently using Sleep Cycle but not a fan of the current UI.

I will have to contact support for a replacement then. What's the best way to reach them? They removed email support which l used years ago.
