Update 11/25/2020: OS 5.1 (44.128.4.15) is now be available to all customers. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.
Announcing the release of Fitbit OS Firmware Update 5.1 (44.128.4.15)!
We release firmware updates to all customers in phases. The update will be available to everyone soon, and a banner will appear in the app when you can install the update. If you don’t see the banner yet, check the app again later.
Important Note: You will need to be on the latest app: iOS 3.34 or Android 3.34.1 in order to view the latest features. Please update your app.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Tried that and it said was up-to-date which of course I am not. Had to laugh and move on...

The 'squircle' shape of the Sense is better (for me) to read notifications. However, Samsung's Tizen operating system is VASTLY superior from every conceivable angle. I am seriously considering giving up on the Sense and just going back to the Active 2 especially since I have a Samsung phone which will give me all the newest functionalities. Fitbit needs to drastically improve its entire game.

@Ochie agree. this is a fitness-first smartwatch last device which fails on both sides. I also have an active 2 and I miss the audible alarms, also I miss the OS. Fitbit os 5 is a great improvement but for a smartwatch, it lacks some of the basic features. Fitbit should give up on the Fitbit OS and implement Wear OS with the fitness/health features of the brand.

Active 2 with bad vocal assistant, wear os with poor fitness monitoring and really bad battery, garmin maybe the best in fitness monitoring but bad in smart features. I thought that fitbit sense was the best choice for battery, fitness monitoring and smart features... But it does everything bad. Really disappointed

Do you need to press the side inductive button to wake Alexa or you just need to say Alexa to give commands without pressing the button?

@N8teGee @BigRalphN can the volume not be set louder with the volume buttons on the phone? I guess it works just like any other bluetooth headset?

I have tried to update my Sense for days.
Update on phone app just blinks and nothing happens. Tried with tablet and PC. Nothing works.
Very disappointed with this and a lot other things not working (mainly hr spikes and sleep).

Same here.. Why doesn't fitbit communivate with us? <my device isn't showing any updates .the app is up to date etc.. This is just frustrating.. Come on fitbit help us out here

What’s really frustrating is that we already see on the fitbit apps store the new SPO2 app (instead of the current clockfaces). But it says we can’t install it because we don’t have the latest version... and no update is shown anywhere. Really annoying cause it makes you feel like you haven’t done something even if you can’t

Imo fitbit should fix their main issues first.. let us update manually instead of letting a ribbon appear.. or atleast respond to us appropriately And give us a solution

I got the update hours after it was released, but my wife is still waiting for the update. What's weird is the app flashed a promo for the update when I opened the app a few minutes ago, but there's no update available. So annoying!

Its just frustrating.. i mean we payed a big amount of many to a top company and what you get in return is just crappy service.. flashing the new os in front of us but we can't get it

Yes, truly... back when Sleep Stages rolled out? My husband, who cared not about the stages of his sleep? Yeah he got the update, a month later I still had not, which prompted my purchase of my Blaze... so, now I’m content to wait for the update, because there’s nothing else to do. 😉
It’ll be worth the wait!
I’m an avid FitBitter. Love the app, love the games, got me a water bottle and a scale that both sync w/ FitBit... just love it. I actually appreciate the slow rollout for updates, because I’d rather they get it right than we have issues. FitBit rocks.
I’m so much healthier than when I got my first bit!

Yes, the HR is *very* accurate now. This was almost reason for me to return mine, so I’m glad it righted itself.
Give her another go!

@Linus41 You are not losing anything... After the update you are just able to answer calls and not even make them. Really disappointed with Fitbit
