Sense OS version

Hi! I just got the Fitbit Sense today and I’m still exploring it. I noticed the SpO2 isn’t working for me. I installed the app for tracking the oxygen while sleeping but i also want to see current levels. I tried installing couple of watch faces which show SpO2 levels but it either shows nothing or says Recording SpO2. I searched little bit on Google and saw in the Fitbit FAQ that SpO2 measurement works only on OS version 5.1. Once I turned on the watch today it immediately installed some update but when i check in the Fitbit mobile app it says my OS version is 3.63. I checked for more updates but it says it’s up to date. Any help here please? Thanks!

Hello @Lyuba21 and welcome to the Community.  The 3.63 that you wrote is actually the Fitbit app version.  Tap on your profile picture > your Sense tile.  If it says 128.6.12, then you have the current firmware.  Don't be alarmed if you got an update, but you didn't update to the current firmware.  I put my Ionic on my account a while ago and it was at least five versions out of date.  I got them in two updates over four days.

Hi @Lyuba21 - there is possibly a bug in the current setup which doesn't install the latest firmware for some users.

If you have the latest firmware you will have an SpO2 tracker app installed [visible only in the Gallery tile] which does the recording over night.

This allows you to install any clock face you want and still get the readings when it works. It may take several days before you get a reading, which you can see in the Fitbit App or on the watch in the Today app or scroll up widgets.

Hi, thank you both for the super fast and helpful replies!

@LZeeW you are right, this is the app version, the Fitbit OS version is 128.6.12 as you mentioned.

@Guy_ did i understand you correctly - there has to be one or couple of night SpO2 readings in order for the watch faces to make a reading throughout the day or per request?

@Lyuba21 - the watch does not do Spo2 readings on demand or during the day.

How do I track blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) with my Fitbit device?
