Sense Set up

My husband order me a new Sense from fit it.com and it was delivered today. I have been try for 3 hours to set it up. I keep getting a "Searching for your Fitbit Sense" with "Make sure your device is nearby" it will flash the fitbit logo then pop up "Not working?" with 4 steps...I have tried this on my Stylo 6 phone, my husbands phone, and my Kindle.  I had a versa 2 before this one so I'm familiar with the necessary setup. However I cannot get the Sense set up by Bluetooth, hotspot, or WiFi. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @AKS012304,

 

Is your Versa 2 still tied to your account?  If it is, you will need to remove it before you start the setup process.

 

Also, are there any other Bluetooths or Fitbits around when you try to set up your Sense? If there is, these will either need to be turned off or moved.

I unpaired my Versa 2 before i started. It is no longer showing under my devices. My Sense is showing that it is paired to my phone. I had my husband and son both turn the bluetooth off on their phones and my kindle is shut off. It is still just saying searching for Fitbit Sense. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, unpaired and repaired the Sense, and restarted both phone and Sense.

Have you cleared the cache on the Fitbit app? Is the app itself up to date?

I had same problem at first. I started roaming through the Fitbit app and found a place in the app to select the Sense and start connecting my phone to the Sense. The Quick Start guide that comes with the phone is not sufficient for pairing your phone with the app and Sense.

It started one time, got to 10% then went straight back to the Searching for Sense. I have uninstalled the app, deleted it from the app trash abd reinstalled. I went through the data and deleted everything i could. It has been very stormy today so maybe my phone doesnt have adequate service or something.

Do you know where on the app you went to chose that?

I clicked on the settings icon in top left corner of the “Today” screen. That let me to a page where I could select the Sense watch and begin to set it up.

If, I'm the phones Bluetooth, the Sense shows up as a trusted device, you will need to remove it so that the fitbit app will be able to find the tracker. 

 

Haveing the sense showing in the phones Bluetooth means that at one time the sense had been successfully setup.
