Hi: I have to get up around midnight to take medication, but when I do, my Sense resets and throws away the whole first couple of hours of my sleep. I have checked for separate entries, but it’s not doing that. Also, even if it was, I would lose all of my deep sleep
info, since I front load deep sleep. This feels wrong. Why does the Sense not wait through these brief periods? It’s barely longer than a bathroom visit. I would like to know exactly how long I have before this reset is triggered. It seems like not long enough, especially since I know many others have the same problem, and it’s got to be ridiculously easy to fix.
I will just add that historically, there is evidence to show that a brief awakening period in the middle of the night is perfectly normal and even healthy. Shouldn’t this be accounted for?
Best AnswerI go to the bathroom at night and get back in bed. The sleep session is not affected. I have a clock I. The bathroom and have glanced at it to see what time it is. I. The morning when I look at my heart rate, Spo2, etc, I see the visit. However my sleep stage is not interrupted. I also take an afternoon nap. The watch picks this up and I have 2 sleep sessions. If the nap is less than 3 there is no metrics on the map though.
Best AnswerI’m glad it works for you. When I get up to take my meds, I also typically go to the bathroom, so it’s probably a little longer than your routine.
Specifically, I am asking the Fitbit developers exactly how long I have before the sleep cycle restarts. Then at least I will know what I’m working with.
Best AnswerCould it be possible that you have your sleep sensitivity level to sensitive? I have mine set to normal.
Tap on the Account icon in the top left of the Today tab > Activity & Wellness > Sleep > Select 'Sleep Sensitivity' > Choose between normal and sensitive.
