Sense battery drained

after downloading the new firmware I noticed that the battery usage is more than what I expected. I charged it during the download and started using it after I got full charged. After 8 hours of used, the battery remaining 80%. I don’t think it can last 6 full days anymore. How am I going to overcome this? I put to sleep mode at least 12 hours every night and I don’t use it for call and the light level is dim. No gps and just for looking at the time

I'm returning the Sense for a replacement due to a different fault, and my worry is that if so many Sense devices are having this 2 day max charging problem, then exchanging it to try to find a device with a better battery is likely to just result in the same issue each time (and annoy support).

There are so many threads on this subject that is seems like a really common issue. It would be reassuring to know the developers at Fitbit are testing the firmware to see if it can still achieve the promised 6 day battery life, so we know for certain if it's a hardware or software issue.

Hi @Donna80, it's good to see you again.

Thanks for your thorough feedback about the Sense. I understand how this issue with the battery life has affected you and I'm sorry for that inconvenience. Fitbit always takes our members feedback into consideration to enhance our products and your experience with them. Your comments won't be the exception as they'll help us to work on the Sense and its performance.

I returned my fitbit Sense a few days ago. I received a new one yesterday.
Unfortunately, it has the same two day charge problem. Heart Rate
tracking is pretty bad, too.

Just received my replacement this morning.

Unboxed, updated, charged to 100%, put it on (no changes, and nothing extra set up), and one hour later it's at 94% battery.

I'm going to re-charge it and try again.

Hello Donna80,

well I had the same scenario, problem with the drain after the first update. Then got the offer to get a replacement and when that was in I was very carefully in how to setup the new Sense. So no SpO2 clock face, no GPS, no extra Fitbit apps, no AOD. It now lasts 3 days. Well it is what it is, maybe the take over by Google has made this “drain” problem into an inconvenient truth. You sell your company and when the new buyer (Google) ask you if there are any problems you can deny this. No problem, some complaints but that’s normal with a new edition. If there are real problems during a “due diligence” and you are telling about that the price will drop and that’s not what Fitbit’s wants. Just a thought, nothing more. In the meantime I’ll hope that we get a new update that will resolve “our” problem.

Kind regards Marcel

I still have the same problem again after my last post. After the last update from Fitbit (before google announced taken over), the first few charges it given me 6 days, the rest was 5 days only. If you want to be exact, right after google has announced taken over, my battery started to decrease from 6 to 5 days. Normally it will be 47% after 72 hours and right now at this moment it is only given me 37% in 74 hours. I will never accept on the battery usage. I am using simpleclockduo right now maybe it consumed much more battery than before.  Before this, I was using  the most simple clock face ‘dayring’. I am well taken for my watch. I never use it for gps and stay in standby mode for 14 hours and the battery performance is decreasing. Any new update is coming up so that I can use it for 6 days again or any solutions? Or. Maybe reset it? If reset, do give me guidelines as I do not know how to reset. Waiting for your answer desperately.

I have never gotten 6 days of charge from my second Sense since the first one was even worse (3 days). I usually only get 4 days of charge with basic apps only installed on this second one. I hope they can get it back up to 6 sometime. Not sure heart rate is accurate either. It's worse than my old Blaze, which still works perfectly. Hopefully some new firmware will come out sometime.

I am having all of the same problems other people are reporting here and tried all of the same steps. I called support and they told me the reason my heart rate variability hadn’t been recorded for more than two weeks is because my Sense is trying to download an update that doesn’t show up in Fitbit or on my Sense. I work in IT and this doesn’t make sense. And update typically doesn’t interfere with features that were previously working until it is applied. It is not applied while being downloaded.

Anyway, I use this watch to help me track my recovery from a long and sustained illness and the heart rate variability and the oxygen percentages have been extremely critical in letting me know when I need to see medical help. I would love it if these features were reliable.

hi,

I've had all these problems that everyone i stating. And i noticed they got worse once i updated to the latest firmware update.

Battery goes from 80 to 0 in 6 hours, watch never syncs but I am able to get notification, the heart sensor not recording.

I tried all the basic IT stuff, turn off bluetooth, turn off watch, restart phone, and so on.. and none of them worked

What did work is when i factory reset the watch. I solved ALL these problems. Go into settings and factory reset i guess lol

I fully charged my phone last night after the update.  That finally ended about 8 pm.  My battery was dead at 4:00 am.  I charged it up again and took it off the charger at 6:30.  it is now 8:00 am and 84%.  This is becoming increasingly irritating.  It was bad before, now it's worse.

Mine is doing the same thing after the latest update, can barely scrape 18hrs basic usage on a Sense that’s only 3 months old and already had to factory reset it twice as was not syncing with phone previously. Not impressed. Is there a tech fix for this? I’ve tried reinstalling etc.

call Fitbit support, they have a nice CR team, and they’ll likely give you a replacement.

I had a similar issue with the syncing  a month ago before this battery life issue, and they sent over a replacement

I've had the SpO2 tracker and GPS, but those have never shortened the battery life this much.  It used to last at least 4 days, maybe even 6 with those apps.  Now it only lasts a day or two at most.  It's getting really frustrating.

I charged my sense for several hours and put it on when I went to bed at 100%, 8 hours later when I woke up, not even out of bed yet and it’s at 65%. Before it might go through 10% overnight.

I WILL NEVER-EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FITBIT PRODUCT

My Sense watch cracked while I was charging it and Fitbit won't repair or replace my $250 Fitbit watch that has since increased to $299.  Instead they offered a 35% discount on another watch. Have you ever seen such a slimy company. Understand that the watch cracked for no reason. It just cracked. Fitbit has no sense of standing behind their defective products.
