I got a brand-new sense in retail packaging the other day. When I got it, the battery indicator was at 96%. I charged as I set it up, but after unplugging it, I noticed the battery was draining super fast, like a percent every 2 minutes. I thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. I woke up just 2 hours later and realized it was dead. I plugged it in, and charged from the start. This time, I got a battery life closer to around 10 hours. I find it bizarre that the battery life started so horrible, and is slowly getting better for some reason. Could be just that the unit had been sitting in a package in a Chinese shop for so long that the capacitors need to build up energy, idk. Hopefully it keeps improving each charge until I get to that promised 6 days. Has anyone else experienced this with a new sense?

I got my sense the other day in the mail, and the battery life was disappointing to say the least. I initially thought this is guaranteed to be an issue on my end, and was even considering returning the watch to the reseller I bought from to get a replacement. But now, I'm reading that nearly 10 people at least have noticed the same battery issue, people who have had senses much longer than me with no issues, and ALL of them started around may 10/11. So this poses a question: is Fitbit updating the software without informing us of the changes, which is resulting in poorer battery life? Could it be an app update that is somehow causing this? What's really going on here? I find it deeply suspicious that 10 people saw a decline from 5-6 days of battery life to 10 hours on the same dates. The timing is just too lined up for it to be individual malfunctions or coincidence.

I have been using mine for a couple of years no with no issue. Only needed a charge once or twice a week depending on the options I had enabled. Over the last few days I noticed that I’ve been waking up with a dead battery even though it was fully charged before going to bed. Now, I have to charge it every 2 hours and have disabled all notifications and heart rate. There has to be a reason this is happening to so many people all at the same time. Hopefully we get a fix soon because I won’t be buying another one.

Seriously though, this is not ok. There is no way it's a coincidence, Fitbit is messing around with something clearly in the software side

Hi @WillTheConq - get a refund if you can as the watch has a fault and buy a new one. Or get a refurbished replacement under warranty.

I was going to, but I really don't think it's a hardware problem anymore. As I explained, at least 10 people started having this same issue with their sense all on the SAME TWO DAYS. There is no way that that could possibly be a coincidence. Fitbit is clearly updating something without telling us, likely the app.

Update on my battery: Overcharging seems to help (leaving it on past 100). This suggests that Fitbit has messed up the battery indicator on the device somehow. And no, it is not heating up or otherwise malfunctioning while charging. Charging is quite smooth and pretty much what Fitbit says it should take. The only problem with the watch is the battery life.
