Sense button and screen don't work half the time

Hi Everyone,

 

I just bought a sense, and I am wondering if it is normal for the button to not work majority of the time. When I tap the screen it almost never works. I am not sure if it also supposed to turn on with movement cause it doesn't seem to. I checked the settings and everything is turned on. I am considering returning and getting a versa at this point. Any suggestions on what I can do?

I am having the same issue with the screen not turning on with motion, even  though the setting says it should. I also cannot figure out how to get the corner buttons to work
