I got my Sense to connect again, by switching off the Sense Controls in the settings on the watch, and switching it back on again.
However my watch is still not receiving notifications from my phone, or alerting to incoming calls etc. How do I get this back on? All the setting appear to be correct.
Fairly sure this started with the update that came through this week.

That is not the best answer! Because it is not the answer! It constantly disconnects. I will have to go into the Bluetooth settings forget "sense controls" and reconnect in the Fitbit app using "setup for calls" tab. This is a complete headache and it's ridiculous I'm on the verge of returning my Fitbit sense and that's after having the Fitbit versa for a very long time I had no issues with getting text notifications I never had a reconnect constantly this Fitbit sense has been a headache with no support or real answer to go with what's going on

Hi Ghostz
Did you update the Fitbit app to clear the known issue they fixed? There's another big thread on it here somewhere. The update went out about 1-2 weeks ago I think?
It fixed mine... for a week... now my Sense is completely dead, won't charge, won't switch on and a warranty replacement is on its way to me. I'm very disappointed with the Sense. A very extravagant purchase for me, and feels like a mistake now.

Yeah it's really buggy I have pretty good technical background I've fully updated removed any battery optimization restrictions completely reinstalled the app rebooted my watch multiple times same issue sometimes doesn't sync up with the app I have manually do it through the app. Disconnect reconnect over and over completely buggy even lost the settings tab on my watch Had to go and reinstall it through the Fitbit marketplace . The sense controls disconnecting is my main deal breaker if I don't get it working soon reliability working I'm missing texts I normally wouldn't miss prior switching to this watch.

I'm also experiencing this daily on my Pixel 6, it means I can't use any of the Sense features as it just disconnects and refuses to work until I force my phone to pair with it again. It worked perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy A71. I'm close to selling my Sense now as it's basically become useless.

I've had three or four FitBits. Bought the Sense about a month ago. It was working fine to take calls and everything. Then something happened. And now with the latest update on the app, that killed it. I redid everything, including removing and reinstalling the app. It worked for about a second. Then it told me to turn off the bluetooth on the watch. That's when it finally connected for calls/messages on my phone and said it was "connected", but the bluetooth on the watch doesn't connect, nor can I get calls and when I do the test, it says "take the call on your phone. Your watch can't connect" or something like that. I've spent ALL day and other days before this.

Doesn't work and won't work on the "test" mode either, despite saying on my \phone that it's connected. The BT won't connect on the FitBit Sense itself., It was working fine but they updated the app recently, and I think that did it.

I have the same problem and the exact same iPhone SE. Has there been a fix found? The Versa 2 was much better on notifications and didn’t lose it’s connection!

I also have been having the same issue as you, I’ll have phone calls and text messages buzz on my phone but won’t come in on my watch even though it says connected I would have to disconnect and reconnect it over again almost every single day and I charge my watch every single day because I charge it when I take a shower. I almost feel like this was a waste of $300. I also found out after I got it that I cannot respond to text messages on my watch with an iPhone but I can with an android but they don’t specify that on the features on their website.

I have a new Sense (iPhone 7) and having the same issue with Sense Control and also the general Sense disconnecting. The Sense does not connect when receiving or making calls like was stated...I have removed and added both making a test call which works then tried again a few minutes later with no luck. Something is obviously wrong! While my previous Blaze couldn’t make calls, it never failed to let me answer calls or see texts and it always synced. It never disconnected. Beyond frustrated and disappointed! This definitely sounds like an internal flaw to this device...but can it be fixed?

I don't know why this happens, but it happens to me also. I do know when it occurs and what I have to do to reconnect my Fitbit Sense to my smart phone (a Samsung Galaxy S21+).
WHAT HAPPENS: My smart phone will say the Sense is still paired to it, and I do receive notifications about text messages and phone calls; however, when it occurs I can no longer "accept" or "reject" a phone call using the Sense.
WHEN IT OCCURS: Under either of two conditions:
1) If the Sense is restarted
2) If my smart phone receives a software update. It can be either a major version update or merely a monthly security patch update. Either way the "semi unpair" occurs.
WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM: First, I have to unpair both the Sense and Sense Controls from my smart phone. Next, I have to re-pair my Sense to the smart phone using the Fitbit app. In this case I must tell the Fitbit app that I am connecting a new Sense device to replace my old Sense (even though it is actually the same Sense watch). Doing it this way causes you to basically have to go through the setup process all over again. Once the Sense has been paired to the smart phone then you must pair the smart phone to the Sense Controls if you want to be able to answer phone calls. To do this you once again go into the app, under "Account", and select the Sense icon. Then press the "On-wrist calls" item under the "General" section. This will start the "Sense Controls" sync/pair process. At that point both the Sense and Sense Controls will be paired to your smart watch.
In spite of knowing how to re-pair the Sense after this problem occurs, it's frustrating to not know why it keeps occurring under the stated conditions above, and I've seen no indication as to what causes the problem on any of these forums.
I hope this helps!

Yes, I have asked Fitbit to respond to this issue and update the community at large with how they intend to address this issue. Should just be a software update, but maybe it is more complicated than that?

My sense keeps disconnecting from my phone too, even though it is still enabled on the watch. If I turn off then back on in watch settings it reconnects.. very annoying and frustrating.

@Beanbag37 Welcome to the Fitbit community.
Does the "Best answer" not work for you?
"Please note that Fitbit controls only connects to Bluetooth whilst in use I.e making/receiving a call. Please see below from Fitbit help pages:
Note that Sense Controls or Versa 3 Controls might be listed as “Not Connected” in the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone. When you receive a phone call, the controls automatically reconnect. This feature requires more frequent charging."
"Sense Controls" isn't supposed to be continuously connected. And the "Sense" Bluetooth connection will always not be listed as connected as it works in the background. It's like this for all other smartwatches as well. Constant connection drains batteries.

The trouble is it connects once and you can see the message or answer a call and then never again so calls and messages don’t come through
