Sense counting many steps while sleeping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I received my Sense for Christmas and it has been great but on 1/29 it logged 18,386 steps at 3:30 AM, on 2/5 it logged 14,414 steps at 3:30 AM and on 2/26 it logged 140,240 steps at 3:30 AM. It does not show a workout or any active zone minutes so I can not delete the steps and I don't know what to do to fix the issue.

Hi @Crog, welcome. It's nice to see a new face around.

Thanks for sharing detailed information about your Sense. I understand your concern and because there aren't activities logged into your account, may I know if you have MobileTrack setup in the Fitbit app? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. If there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating while you were sleeping, that might have caused you to receive incorrect steps tracked.

Assuming you have this feature, please follow these steps to remove it from your account:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap MobileTrack:
For iOS devices, scroll down and tap the option to remove the device.
    For Android devices,
tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  4. Once that is done, you can continue syncing your Sense and monitor its behavior in the next days.

While it's not possible to delete the steps that have already been synced, you can log a non-step-based activity such as driving to override those steps.
