Hi there. It is surprising to see that while riding has been selected from the device it actually records steps as well. It seems a simple solution to disable steps counting when riding is selected and one is riding. Solutions offered by Fitbit are inconvenient and defeat the purpose of paying so much money and getting a device that does not fulfil basic function. This should be an easy fix. I am waiting for my 45 days to take this back as makes no sense to pay so much when you can get others so much cheaper with same result.
This needs to be fixed. Garmin one of the top end ones that does not have this issue. Learn from them and fix this please.
Fitbit will not let the user add a car ride ( the activity is driving) during an already recorded event.
You could delete the bike, then add a car ride, but remember to tap on the event when it pops up. Simply typing in driving and pressing enter will not work.
BTW those steps are the bumps the bike ride over.
My thought is that yes these steps could easily be removed.
What is Fitbit to do?
Thank you Rich_Laue for your reply. I am unsure about the first 3 points.
If I’m riding a bike and recording the ride as an exercise why should any steps count? It’s like double dipping? Falsely Increasing the stats. Other high end devices turn the steps off while one is riding.
Firmly in group four.
I agree. I actually use a separate GPS device when riding and just leave my Fitbit at home on charge 4 this exact reason.
