I upgraded from Charge 2 to Sense and Sense counts steps while I'm sleeping!!
It is annoying to see 500 steps when waking up, my old Charge 2 did a much better job.
Is there a way to fix this?
I like the Sense a lot but if I can't trust what it measures I'll give it back and keep the old Charge 2

Hi @Jggjfhjkt , i'll be glad to help you with the steps recorded while sleeping.
Please go to fitbit.com and logg in with your email address and password.
On the upper right corner your'll see the settings (gear icon)
Click on it and choose settings.
Under personal settings, search for "sleep sensitivity" .
Verify that it is set as normal and not sensitive.
Click on Submit to save your changes.
More about this, can be found here: What's the difference between the normal and sensitive sleep setting?
Let me know how it goes

That doesn't work, @JuanFitbit - my sleep sensitivity is set at normal and I'm still getting over 150 steps a night. With my Charge 2, I was getting the count from actual steps, getting up to use the restroom 2x a night. (appx 48).

Hi @krob65 , thank you for sharing your experience.
Have you tried wearing the Sense a bit tighter during your sleep?
Sometimes when you make some arm movements during the sleep, these might be recognized as steps.
What does your sleep stages said? Do they show you any awake time? (please do not post the graph, just confirm the answer)
Until then I'll be expecting your reply

@JuanFitbit I can't wear this any tighter - the strap is leaving impressions on my skin. My sleep stages are correct - I can see where I get up at night, but again, it's only about 28 steps (to & from) my bathroom, so I don't know why this is happening. As I said before, my Charge 2 didn't have this issue. This has only started since I bought my Sense.

On two separate occasions now, sense has logged nearly 15,000 steps over the course of 15 minutes while I was asleep! I have the sensitivity set to normal. It's insane and really messing up my challenges.

I am having the same issue. Last night I accumulated over 6,000 steps while sleeping. The week before, on a tuesday, i accumulated over 40,000 steps while sleeping. Quite frustrating. I'm in contact with support now, all they keep doing is running me through troubleshooting steps, which are not working.

I'm having the EXACT same problem. 2 nights this week my Sense has recorded 14000 and 16000 steps over an EXACT 15 minute period in the middle of the night.

I have the same problem. Yesterday I bought the sense because my charge 3 was saying I did 15000-30000 steps in my sleep regularly. I put this down to wear and tear and that it took a few knocks in the past including being in the wash! So thought I'd upgrade...
My first time wearing the sense to bed last night and in the morning it said from the period of 05:45 to 06:00am I had 33000 steps logged. I'm very confused by this issue. Both watches have had this problem.
I'm at a loss as to why it happens and quite disappointed in my new sense.

Mine will sometimes count an extra 100
Or so while I’m sleeping, I chalked it up to restless legs or other movement. It doesn’t even count my steps when I’m doing water exercise (laps around the pool), and sometimes I’ve watched it visibly erase steps on the site that it clearly had credited me with. It’s annoying, and misinforming, for sure.

Guys thanks for your answers. I’m using Sense for almost a year already and it counts every night 200-500 steps while I’m sleeping. I’ve tried normal and sensitive settings, to disconnect to SPO2 reading, to wear it tighter and looser, but without results. It’s a pity that the old Charge 2 was making a better job on that!
is there any solution for that?

Hi everyone! Thank you for your comments and efforts.
We do not recommend to use the sensitive settings to record your sleep as this will recognize small movements easier as being awake as when using the normal setting
You can read more about it here: What's the difference between the normal and sensitive sleep setting?
It's recommendable to use the Sense a bit tighter during the sleep as it avoids a lot of movements during the night.
@AJAC12 @KrTo , the amount of steps is a bit high, could you confirm if the Sense reset at midnight and that the steps were not overtaken from the previous day?
To all other please make sure that the Sense is already up to date. ( No Firmware update needed)
Restart your watch: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
It's also recommendable to create a sleep schedule on the watch.
Hope it helps.

I've never had the sensitivity set to anything but normal and I always wear my Sense relatively tight. Three times it logged 10-15,000 steps while I was sleeping! I've stopped wearing it to sleep which defeats the purpose of the sleep functions. I'm very disappointed and will be cancelling Fitbit premium.
We need the issue resolved, not continuos "work-arounds" that don't fix the issue.

My settings are already set to normal, but it still counts steps while sleeping and even cuddling my dog. It's actually a bit annoying to have to choose what hand to pet the dog with...and ofc to wake up having done 400 steps alredy...
Tbh. I find that a bit disappointing considering the pricerange it is in. For being fitbits most expensive watch, you would think that you'd get the best and most accurate technique.

These instances all occurred from 05:45 - 06:00. On more than one occasion the steps were counted when not even wearing the watch to sleep.
If I could upload images I could show you a few instances.

Hi Juanfitbit. I’ve done everything you mentioned and I’m still getting steps while sleeping. Tonight only 200. That shouldn’t happen.
