Sense didn't track all steps on treadmill desk

I have a treadmill under my desk and walk 2-3 miles a day. I’ve had many Fitbits and a couple of Apple Watches.
My Sense gave me credit for 2500 steps when my treadmill estimated 7800 steps. It was a 3 mile day on the treadmill.
I am extremely disappointed in this device😢

Hi @Doxiedoc  the Sense was made as a wrist based tracker, so it might not pick up your steps if all the movement is under your desk. Might this be the case?

Strange. I wonder if you have it on too tight or too loose? Mine is perfect, within 1-2% of Apple Watch and seemingly more accurate than my Versa 2. You may want to call customer support?

Are you waiving your arms when you walk or you holding onto something? Anything else than swinging your arms will reduce the accuracy of step counting.

I am walking on a treadmill while working on my computer. The tracker is of course on my wrist as I walk.

So your arms are not moving in a normal motion as if you where running outside.

As mentioned above, your tracker on the arm has no direct way to view what the feet are doing. At best it is looking for atm motions that suggest the feet might be moving.

@Doxiedoc so you simply prevent Fitbit from detecting steps. You may try to put Fitbit on your ankle or into the pocket so it may be more successful with detecting steps while you walk but the downside of that is losing the HR (and probably AZM will not register either). For wrist-based step trackers your arms must be moving. There is no other way.
