Hi All,
There are a few topics about for this but bits a pieces in each. Just checking if anyone has any factual links or information on the below. HR/Calorie burn without much exercise/physical exertion. I am not chasing medical advice. Just if what my Fitbit sense is telling me is accurate or nearly accurate.
Just wondering how your heart rate correlates with calorie burn. Not under ‘exercise’ conditions. Just daily life. I work in an office and I had 272 AZM today with a 4200 calorie burn. 11500 steps so light activity I guess. Usually about 3200 calories average depending on the day.
The missing link is long acting (12-14h mid-range dose) stimulants for ADHD (adult), extremely high stress environment at work currently and an anxiety disorder to top it off. No heart issues (several ECG’s before and after the medication was prescribed), no physical issues, BP within normal range. 35 years old. No other health issues.
Stress reduction is key of which I am working on but given my job stress will be a factor at times. Following up with a specialist to ask the same questions but medical professionals tend to be somewhat limited when it comes to information like this.
Is this calorie burn correct? With decent exercise on top/strength training, this will be a whopper of a calorie intake to get to a decent surplus. Which is my goal.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, @Bazinga0024 welcome, It sounds to me that you are indeed asking for advice where the only valid source would be a medical professional. I suggest you focus on what your personal medical advisor tells you. So far a calorie burn is concerned I can tell you I burn about 3,000 to 3,400 a day with AZM 200+ I register about 13,000 steps. My core exercise is 3,000 metres swimming in 90 minutes burning about 700 calories. The proof of the pudding is, as they say, in the eating. I carefully record my calorie intake and lose and gain weight (I'm on my scales daily) as expected in the daily data. I do not see any evidence of an imbalance between calorie burn and consumption.
I hope this helps, talk to your medical professional.
Cheers

Hi,
Just to say I had the same issue with my Sense today too - high calorie burn and high heart rate AZM cardio 163bpm whilst sitting at my office desk! likewise I have only recorded 4,000+ steps with a relatively sedate day, yet I have burnt 4,000+ calories and only consumed close to 1,500 by 6pm lol
Yes my job is stressful but not to this extent and it is manageable and not exceptional.
Due to being an NHS manager I am bare below the elbow so my Fitbit has to be worn on my belt as there are no other options available from Fitbit for this group of individuals, only via 3rd parties. Could this be the issue?
I am not going to raid the chocolate store or takeout store tonight as my calorie burn is not accurate and clearly incorrect! Frustratingly annoying!!!

@Swimagine I would guess it's gotta be something with how you're wearing it not as intended. I've never had more than 3,865 calories and that was a super busy day at work.
Curious though, how do you get heart rate readings if the sense is on your belt?
