Sense heart rate

Really disappointed to see the results done by a Dr. on the inaccuracy of the heart rate tracker on my Fitbit Sense. It was a pretty detailed testing. If they don’t fix I will be replacing with a different device.

"a Dr."  Who can argue with that !

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

@4Kimberly  If you're talking about The Quantified Scientist on YouTube, watch his other reviews. Most wrist fitness trackers are pretty bad in heart rate monitoring especially with weights. But yes, even for stationary bike and outdoor cycling, it's below average compared to the devices he's tested.

@eezeepee Right and that's why most fitness watch have the feature to pair an external HR sensor. Fitbit, being convinced about their superiority of its sensor, decided against this possibility.

Still the inaccuracy of Sense/Versa 3 sensor since the release of the watches is quite an exception.

I had been comparing it with my oxy-meter with resting heart rate. At times is WAY off, but just off in general.

I just used my Sense  weight training workout.  It was way lower than my Ionic was.  Very disappointing.  I want to return it and get an Apple Watch. Obviously Google uses cheaper sensors than Fitbit did.

@Rysxpress Obviously? The Sense came out before Google acquired Fitbit.

Okay I stand corrected.  I thought it was acquired in 2020. But, for the latest and best model Fitbit makes, it still doesn’t explain why the sensor on the Sense is less accurate than the older Ionic from 2017.  I will give it another shot with an intense interval workout next week.  If my heart rate doesn’t get into the peak zone for at least a few minutes  then I will try to return it for a refund.

@Rysxpress you can give it how many shots you like, the sensor is bad and Fitbit is evidently not interest to fix it and, even better, keep sending the watch even if not fit for purpose.
