I find admirable the dedication of the users, in primis @Guy_ to understand the problem when the same Fitbit actually doesn't partecipate to the discussion like if it wasn't their problem. This says everything about the respect of Fitbit for its users and something to ponder for your next purchase.

Sense recording too many floors.  Worked fine when I first got it but in the last few months it records far more floors than what I am actually doing.  Tried the solutions from other posts on here (restart, update, etc.) but nothing solved the issue.  Any other solutions that anyone knows of?!?!?

Thanks for the responses @dwyn127 , @NyeeNyee -

It seems you both have recent watches and latest firmwares but with different results from a factory reset, which is strange.

@NyeeNyee - is your watch still giving accurate floor counts?

@Guy_ yes, my floor count is still accurate. I drove to Florida from Ohio 1 week ago. I can't remember how long before my departure that I did the reset, but even with the change in extreme heat and humidity my count has remained at 0 floors which is accurate. I am amazed! I am so grateful for the suggestion. I really do love using a Fitbit and don’t want to jump ship. This reset has removed all annoyance from my consciousness. Thank you!!

I have given up on constantly doing resets The instructions are confusing
and take much too much time to translate into terms I can understand and
then too much time to accomplish.

I am making do with what I have until the Pixel comes out with their smart
watch next year.

I did not find the instructions on a reset confusing, just pointless as it accomplished nothing.

Like you I am looking for what comes next and deciding on when to change trackers.  Perhaps when the battery gets worse or when I find something with a function I decide I must have.

Maybe turn off continuous sync if it is on

Fitbit did that for me. It syncs when it feels like it.

Try doing a factory reset on the Sense.  I had this problem last year and a reset took care of it.  Otherwise, the Sense is defective.

I've done a reset, the only thing it did was give me an extra full-time
gray face that drains my battery, requiring that I recharge every morning.

At this point my touch screen rarely works. Insistent on does not work.
Stairs and heart rate is always off. It does keep time though.

I’ve reset my Fitbit multiple times, always make sure it’s snug, made sure it’s up to date, and even deleted my device and reset it up completely. It still has said I have 6 floors already and I just got out of bed. Another person said it takes approximately 10 feet of height difference to make it count a floor and getting out of bed isn’t 10 feet that’s for sure.

Hi @KBwatch - unfortunately no matter what you do it's unlikely to fix over counting floors.

After 1 year of use, I was experienced with my sense the same problem - too many floors counting - for several months. I searched recently what to do to fix the problem, found this thread and tried to reset the watch, re-updated, same problem - too many floors counting.
Then another day I decided to wash the sensor holes with technical alcohol. After it dried, the next day, I was glad that the clock no longer counted useless floors. 6 days have already passed in which the number of floors is ok.
I hope it helps. Be careful not to force the sensor holes with hard objects. Don't try it yourself if you haven't worked with fine objects before.
Very hard to write a message here...
