Sense is tracking steps while sleeping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have several devices and recently I've started getting about 20 thousand steps between 3 and 4 am each night. They dissapeared a few days later. Not sure what is going on. I recently got a sense and have removed the other trackers. My sleep tracking tends to show nothing for several hours early each morning. Starting to think aliens are abducting me each night and forcing me to exercise.

Welcome to the forums, @nerakmac.

Thanks for sharing detailed information about this situation, and the steps tried on your own. I understand how you're feeling about getting those steps and just to confirm, do you recall if MobileTrack was set up in the Fitbit app by that time? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. However, If there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, that might have caused you to receive incorrect steps, and interrupt the sleep logs.

Assuming this is correct, follow these steps to make sure this feature was removed:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap MobileTrack:
For iOS devices, scroll down and tap the option to remove the device.
    For Android devices,
tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  4. Once that is done, use your Sense as you normally do and monitor its behavior in the next days.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for replying.  I did have Mobile Track and I have now disabled it.  I will let you know if that works in a couple of days.  Karen

Did this fix your issue?  I'm curious if I need to do the same.

Hi there, @_Jacques_ and @nerakmac.

@_Jacques_ Thanks for joining this thread and if you haven't done so, I'd also recommend the suggestions described in my previous post to get your steps tracked correctly by your watch.

@nerakmac I'm glad this got sorted out after removing the MobileTrack function and thanks for keeping us posted. I hope you can keep crushing your goals with your Sense.
