Just purchased my Fitbit Sense yesterday and am very happy with it, however for some reason it keeps changing the language back to its original settings, which is really frustrating because I've had to change it a few times already since purchasing.
I purchased this in Amsterdam, so everything is in Dutch, however I want my Fitbit to be in English. I managed to change the language settings by logging into my account on my laptop (as I cannot find the "Advanced Settings" in the app - if there is a way to do it via the app, please let me know) - and changed the language settings to "Europe (English)".
After having synched my Fitbit, it'll have changed to English and will work perfectly fine. However, for some odd reason it will randomly change back to Dutch without having touched the language settings on my profile.
1. Why does this keep happening and can I do something to keep my Fitbit in English?
2. Is there a more convenient way to change the language settings on your Fitbit via the app?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @LilyAnn.
I am sorry to hear your Fitbit Sense keeps changing the language from English to Dutch. Thank you for trying to resolve this and providing the additional details. I totally understand how you are feeling and I am glad to assist you with your concerns. I recommend doing the following:
1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture.
2. Tap App Settings.
3. Tap Time Zone.
4. Turn off the option to automatically detect your country.
5. Choose your country, then sync your device.
6. Follow the instructions to update your device to use the language you selected.
Note that your Fitbit device uses the same language that you use for your Fitbit account.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi @LilyAnn
Please try what @LiliyaFitbit - if that does not work you may want to try this - it has worked for a few of us who live in NL and prefer English https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Sense/How-to-change-the-language-on-my-Sense-device/m-p/4539403#M501...

Hi @LiliyaFitbit ,
Unfortunately I am having same problem with German. I completed the steps you explained here but seems did not work. I bought Sense 3 weeks ago and at least 4 time my language changed to German from English. The same also happens to start day of the week. I changed it monday couple of times but it changed back to sunday.
And to change these settings are really difficult. Each time I need to sit on my computer to change. I wish we had the chance to change this from watch itself, at least from the application.
Generally I am happy with the watch but such things are really annoying and I am losing my confidence in the software which is a big factor in a fitness tracker/smart watch. 2 years ago I stopped using Fitbit Blaze because of problems in the software and it is really sad to see that Fitbit have not improved enough. I hope same would not happen to Fitbit Sense.

Hi,
The only solution that worked for me is to change the Location in App Settings.
1. Open Fitbit app on mobile phone
2. In the Fitbit app, select Today tab then tap on your profile picture
3. Under Settings select App Settings
4. Select Location
5. Turn off the option to automatically detect the country
6. Choose an English language country (I selected United States), then sync your device
It is a bit annoying that we need to tweak like this. I do not understand why Fitbit defaults to a language based on the country the device is used.

Good idea? google translate, word 'location' in English to German, Chec, Austrian???? and search settings.
...........FITBIT should upgrade all impacted users to Premium for 1 yr to compensate users for time spent. Premium is just computer time for most users and electricity for Fitbit. At end of year maybe some will sign up for upgrade., I, Richard E, pay for Premium today.
