Sense not charging or turning on

I have had my sense for little over a year now and it has started to not charge anymore. I have tried using different USB ports as wellss as various plugs and it will not start charging. It’s now completely dead and it’s rather frustrating. Any assistance would be great. I’m a keen runner and have used Fitbits through the years.

Hi @Louie199  - this can happen and often it needs cleaning or there can be a fault with the charge cable, see instructions How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

Sadly I have cleaned all of the terminals and the cable is getting power but I will try and contact Fitbit and speak to them.

@Louie199- did you follow the links in the instructions for cleaning, notably

 

We recommend that you occasionally:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device to ensure they stay bronze or gold in color:
    1. Use a toothbrush with rubbing alcohol. Dry with a cloth or tissue before charging.
    2. Make sure not to scrape the contacts with anything metal, since metal can damage the plating and cause corrosion.
  • Clean the pins on your charging cable:
    1. Clean the pins carefully with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol.
    2. Make sure that no pieces of the swab are left behind.

And/or is one pin indented?

Yup, I’ve had fitbits for at least 5 years now and never had an issue with cleaning them or them not charging. 

I will given them another thorough clean later and try again.
