Sense not performing as well as charge 2

Dear Sense Users,

I have had a charge 2 for several years and loved it. I got a Sense for Christmas from my wife and it has lots of extra features, but the one that tracks my heart during an exercise is not working as well as my older model. On similar hikes the Sense is not reporting the heart zones as accurately as the Charge 2.  It is on the same account with the same settings. I will try some more walks hoping someone here has a solution. I restarted it also.

In your browse use image file icon (see below). That's how it looks like on my mobile:

@robertgarven there's definitely difference in sensor and the algorithm has been adjusted several times but I would be curious to see a sample HR recording from walk with charge 2 and Sense. Perhaps you could post it so we can analyze it together? 👍🏻

Well I don’t know what happened there. On my menu bar there’s no image icon it ends at the link....

what is basically happening on a 5 mile 50 floor hike my new since device shows I’m barely  breaking out of the no activity zone. On my charge 2 device  a similar hike shows cardio, fat burn, and peak heart rates.

i’m using the same account in Settings does the new device need to establish a baseline heart rate for it to function accurately?

thank you for all of your help, the main reason I’m wearing this device is because I have some heart issues and tracking the different heart rate levels is important to me.

I don’t want to hurt my wife’s feelings but this new Sense device to me has a lot of bells and whistle‘s but it’s not performing near as accurate  as my charge 2 device did.

too bad I didn’t have a return guarantee

@robertgarven you can try posting heart rate images from the browser on your computer or try setting your mobile browser to desktop version. I just wanted to see the charts and how the lines look like. I dunno if you also look at active minutes - charge 2 uses old version so called Active Minutes whereas Sense uses Active Zone Minutes (harder to get).

ETA: If you got sense for xmas and you still have a receipt you should still be able to return it. The grace period is usually 14 days.

M,

I tried 3 different browsers on my desktop, iMac and on my iPhone no image icon. I wish I could insert the image as it shows for the same hike totally different stats. I am going to return this as that was the #1 reason I got the fitbit Sense in the first place and pretty bummed. I am not trying to win stupid zone awards to show my heart rate, I wanted a simple chart showing how long I was working out in each zone. On this hike 500 feet clammy heart was pumping and it shows I barely made fat burn. There are lots of bells and whistles on this thing but the main thing I wanted it to do it failed at.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Rob

@robertgarven really sorry to hear that, Rob. Perhaps try exchanging it? 😞
