Sense notifications are not vibrating

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When my notifications were coming in previously, they would vibrate for each one. They no longer vibrate when they hit the Sense. For phone calls, the Sense vibrates without issue.  DND and SLEEP MODE are disabled. Anyone else see this issue?

It seems actually like it's only Outlook notifications that aren't vibrating.

Hi @outlawales. Welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for checking the notifications settings on your Sense. Just to confirm, by Outlook notifications do you refer to email or calendar notifications? Also, was that app set for Apps notifications in the Fitbit app? Also, may I know the model and OS/software version of your phone? These details will help me to investigate what may be occurring.

I look forward to your response.

Hi @ajsedlacek. Welcome! It's nice to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for letting me know about your Sense and for the rest of the information. Because your watch isn't vibrating for all your notifications, may I know if you feel a vibration when pressing the button, silent alarms or reminders to move? Is the Fitbit app updated in your phone?

In the meantime, let me recommend the following:

  1. Remove the Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. On your phone's settings, tap Apps > Fitbit > Force Stop.
  3. Restart your watch.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and sync your Sense.
  5. Set up the notifications one more time.

I look forward to your reply.

Hmm, too bad no one replied whether it fixed for them or not. I started having this same issue a few days ago. This is with any notification. I see the notification on the fitbit sense, when I pull down the notifications, but when I am supposed to have received the notification, the sense never vibrates. DND and sleep mode are both off. The app notifications definitely are getting to the Sense, but the sense is just not making a vibration that it came in. And yes, vibrations on the Sense still work when I press the button or when changing the vibration intensity between low and strong, and also vibration comes through on step reminders and goals.

Seems like some firmware issue that happens over time or triggered by some event given that notifications are still getting to the device.

Update 2 hours later:

ok, turns out this might be a new feature in a recent app update or just a change to how it works? had no idea that the app controlled whether the sense vibrated or not. I have always had my phone set to vibrate or silent only since forever (can't remember the last time I actually let my phone ring with volume). I'm unsure if "always vibrate" in the fitbit app device settings was always there, but if it was then it maybe it only was for phone silent cause I for sure always had my phone on vibrate and I had always had vibrations on notifications on the sense and never had the "always vibrate" setting enabled. Now it seems like both phone vibrate/silent will make it so the notifications sent to the sense would not vibrate the device. enabled "always vibrate" and back in business.
