Sense occasionally doesn't sync

Sense occasionally doesn't sync, will not update some apps because it won't sync. I have restarted phone, restarted sense. Still says looking.  I have set up the wi fi on it numerous times. It also occasionally reboots itself. Any other ideas?

Hi @ShellyM279. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for sharing that your Sense isn't syncing correctly, as well for troubleshooting it prior to posting. Let's work on this together! Before anything else and to further investigate on my end, may I know the model and OS/software of your phone? Do you receive an error message after getting looking? Even though you've tried some steps, I'd recommend to follow the troubleshooting tips described in this help article.

In regards to your watch rebooting by itself, does this happen when doing certain activity or accessing an app? How often does your watch reboot? Please try restarting your watch to refresh its performance.

I'll look forward to your response.

Samsung galaxy s10-SMG975U
SOFTWARE G975SQU4E
it updated on 10/1. I have turned Bluetooth off and on, restarted watch. It
is allowed to run in background. When it reboots, it has done it in the
middle of the day and at night for no reason in particular.

Hi everyone,

Tonight is my second night using the Fitbit Sense and, for the second night in a row, it stopped synching with my phone around 10pm. Notifications, text replies, etc thus stopped working. I was somehow able to get it to re-synch after restarting both devices, turning Bluetooth on and off, and a host of other measures. Do you by chance know why this is occurring and how to avoid this moving forward?

Thank you very much in advance,

I have the same issue - happens at least once or twice a day and requires me to restart the Sense. I am using an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S10e and both my phone, the app, and the Sense have the most recent firmware version.

Hi everyone. It's great to see you participating in the Community Forums.

Thanks sharing detailed information about this situation. I'm sorry that your Sense stops syncing consistently despite of the steps tried on your own. If you've exhausted the troubleshooting tips described in this help article, please give a try to the following:

  1. On the Bluetooth settings of your phone, remove the Sense from the list.
  2. Turn off the Bluetooth from your phone and any other device nearby.
  3. Reboot your phone and restart your watch.
  4. Turn on the Bluetooth only on your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  6. Choose your Sense, tap replace device and follow the onscreen instructions.

For the ones that haven't done so, please provide me with the model and OS/software version of your phones if the issue persists, so I can look into this.

@ShellyM279, thanks for replying back and because your watch continues rebooting by itself, I've requested a case on your behalf so you can receive further assistance from our Support teamPlease note that due to recent events affecting our operations there might be a delay in their reply, but they'll get in touch with you soon.

I am running on iOS 14.0.1. Here's my Sense:
- i don't use the SPO2 watch face (i have another one from the heavy stats since i like it more)

- i don't have always On display but it is set to show the watch as i turn my wrist
- theoretically is connected to both wi-fi and bluetooth (practically, this dies as soon as i close the app) - i raised an issue with the support team and they said they are looking into it. To read weather or anything related, i need to sync it all the time with the app
- GPS is On THEORETICALLY since it's not working/connecting (at all!!!)

So, for me, absolutely nothing works since day 1. I just throw over 300$ on a piece of silicone with some metal.

Well it syncs now if I go into the app and actually drag down 2 or 3 times
until it syncs other than doing that it will not sync, it tells you the
last time it was done. It will not show weather it says sync fitbit app to
show info amd has rebooted itself once so far.

I too am having a sync problem as well. It would seem that I have to restart my watch at least 2-3 times a day for it to sync with my phone, this is the only way I've found the watch will sync back up with the phone again. My phone information is as follows; Oneplus 8 5G UW, Oxygen 10.5.4.IN67CD, Android 10.
