today, as I was slipping it off , the thing holding the band in sense somehow failed and the device fell on the floor and screen shattered. it was the band that came with it and i did not do anything to disengage it. it is distressing that I can't go pay someone to fix it because it still works but the shards of glass sticking up make it unusable. feels like something that is not my fault. but i understand that basically it is not good for anything except recycling or the trash, as it is not reparable? I would pay somebody to fix it if it were possible. unfortunately, it doesn't look like my credit card company will be any help. chat support says will send email regarding support options, but it has not come yet. Maybe because there are not any?

Hi @jmsms Fitbit takes each case individually, so it's hard to tell. From what I've seen on the forums, accidental breakage isn't covered. You have homeowners or renters insurance that might cover it?

Yes they offer discount on another device. Debating whether to do it. Still works and some windshield crack repair resin and plastic cover protector make it usable.
