In the Fitbit app tap your watch symbol in the top right corner > then your watch again in the Devices list > then Notifications > then tap each notification type you want to see on your watch and make sure they are enabled and on.

Hi @BlueSparky - as @Scott337 has mentioned it is important to setup notifications etc. On the new phone.
For them to work with the new phone it is also important that the watch is no longer linked to the old phone and due to bugs in the the new V4 Fitbit App that the connection has not been lost.
To achieve that try Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.
Make sure there are no other devices running the Fitbit App switched on, especially the old phone and any other watches.
Restart the watch via the button.
Login and wait for any pair, link or Fixit prompts and sync manually.
If necessary in the Fitbit App, Device page Add new device and choose your watch and replace. This ensures that the watch is correctly setup on the new phone.
Lastly on the watch swipe the face to the right to get to Quick Settings and make sure that neither Sleep nor Do not disturb are enabled.
