Hi there, @JDalg. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, it's sad to hear that your Sense stopped working after swimming. I'll do my best to get you back on track.
As a first approach, please note that if your Fitbit device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth. I'd also follow @Heather-M's tips and recommendations.
If you've done the above but to no avail, please try restarting your Sense. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
If the restart doesn't work either and your watch hasn't vibrated for the restart process, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

The seal between the display and device is very weak, over time it will fail, once it fails and water gets inside you need to get it to dry. There are many methods drying beakers/beads, put it in rice or cat litter, or by a dehumidifier...
I would not attempt to clean it or add more water to the device as it will just allow more moisture/liquid in the device.
Another route if you had a heat gun is to remove the display and then dry the device, once you make sure all liquids/moisture is removed from the inside of the device you can then reuse the heat gun and reassemble.
But the seal will never be water tight again.
If this is more than you can handle find a repair place they can do all this and more.
But until all moisture/liquid is removed do not use or attempt to charge as the moisture/liquid will short circuit the device damaging it. Once it shorts the device is useless. YMMV.

Hi @JDalg - don't charge your watch if it gets hot as it is dangerous.
Often water inside can cause all sorts of damage.
Even if you do manage to revive it it will generally never work right, depending on the damage, with a battery life of a day or even only a few hours.
