Fitbit claims that the Fitbit is waterproof to 50 feet. I haven't tested that. I take it off before I shower, I don't swimm with it ever. Last week, when I closed my pool, I forgot to take it off and I put my hand into the water for maybe 5 minutes max. It no longer works. This is the second sense I've had. The first one stopped working because I did wear it in the shower (Fitbit says that's fine). I'm so disappointed in the money I've thrown away.

Hi, @dcrutherford, did you check your Fitbit app to see if it could sync? It may appear inert but does the app show any response? As explained earlier getting it wet should not result in problems, lack of charge is a much more likely cause of problems. Your ultimate recourse is to talk to "Customer Support" using the chat facility or phone for a prompt response.

You can dry it out with white rice. What that will do is draw out any water that got into the watch. Leave it in the rice overnight and it should work as if nothing ever happened.
Although I didn't try this out on a Fitbit, I know it works because my sister accidentally dropped her cell phone in the lake and once we put it in white rice (after HOURS of being at the bottom of the lake), it worked like new.

No not all are water resistant. The seal degrades over time or due to exposure to certain conditions/environments.

Hi, @dcrutherford I've worn my "Sense" daily swimming for 90 minutes for more than 18 months, you should not be having this experience just because it got wet. Allowing it has not been damaged (wearables lead a tough life) or the adhesive has degraded with time (which seems quite a rare occurrence) have you tried to sync it with your phone app? If it responds in any way I wonder if your issue is the state of charge in the battery (quite a common problem)
Let us know, if this is the case we can advise further.
Cheers

It was working fine, got wet and not won't charge or turn on, so I can't see it to sync it. It's totally dead.

I've had the same issue today, have worn it swimming many times previously yet with about 50% battery left the screen just turned black and it unresponsive. Have tried holding the button down for over minute as suggested in another post but nothing.

No damage. And saying it's waterproof unless the adhesive wears out is equivalent to "it's not waterproof". Sorry to be so flippant, but I live by my sense, and I'm disappointed it's happened to me twice.

Same problem here . I wore this morning to a swim class for my grandson and the next thing I know it went crazy. Totally dead. I rarely get it wet and I know it was good before swimming cause it synced right before class time. I would expect it last longer than two years for 250.00. I am retired now and can’t just come up with that much. Maybe looking elswear

Exact same issue with me. For me it was only 5 minutes in rain. The app on my phone shows it is looking for Fitbit to sync.

I am having the same problem. I never took it for Swim or Shower. In my case, My Fitbit got wet in Rain. I was out only for 5 minutes.
I contacted Customer Support. They suggested 1) cleaning the back as well as charging point with alcohol swab, 2) Trying out multiple USB ports for charging and 3) Press and Hold button for 10 to 15 seconds.
Nothing worked. Support team mentioned somebody will contact me over e-mail. Waiting for the email.
