Fitbit stopped working last night exactly 2 years since purchase.
Will not turn on at all. Have followed all the steps to reset etc.

This is the second Fitbit exactly the same problem. I feel the battery last 2 years then kaput.

Fitbit I’m breaking up with you and moving to Apple. What a waste of money and the Google merge is the icing on the cake. In a bad way.

Hi there, @Kazbobby. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit device is still unresponsive. I understand your concern and how you must be feeling, I will do my best to help you with this!

As per the description of your post, it seems like your Fitbit device is having battery inconveniences. Have you tried charging your Fitbit device? Sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

If you notice that your Fitbit device is not charging, note that there are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. If you are charging your Fitbit on the wall socket, try using another CE certified USB adapter for low energy devices.

I'd recommend following the tips and recommendations provided here Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Fitbit Sense and hoping to get some advice. The device is around three years old, and I've regularly used it while swimming and in the shower without any problems. However, the last time I went swimming in a pool, something changed.

That night, I charged my Fitbit as usual, leaving it on the charger overnight. I often hear it vibrating during the night, which I assume is the usual notifications for being fully charged or some other alert. This time, when I heard it, I disconnected it from the charger to avoid any more noise. When I disconnected I remember seeing some lights on the display - so it definitely worked at that time.

The next morning, my Fitbit wouldn’t turn on at all. I tried putting it back on the charger, thinking the battery might be drained, but nothing happened. I even switched to a different socket and tried a different charger, but still no luck.

I’m worried that it might have died on the day I went swimming. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on what else I can try, or is it time to accept that it might be dead?

I've checked few of the help topics like  Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging? but nothing seems to help.

Thanks in advance for any help!

My Fitbit sense stopped working about 3 weeks ago. I followed all of the suggestions from the forum here and I still can't get it to turn on. I even went so far as buying a brand new charger from Fitbit and that didn't even work. I'm wondering if I need to try to buy a new battery for it or is there something that I haven't tried yet?  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'll never buy another Fitbit, having been a customer of many Fitbit devices for many years. Terrible support, zilch repairability, absolutely zero service centres. Just horrible. Get a Garmin or an Apple Watch. Seriously

I tried for two months but I refused to give up. My Sense finally fixed itself. Here is what I did:

1) I charged my watch ( found one of the four pins was broken and purchased a new charging cable) overnight. I took it off the charger.

2) Logo was on (as always) so I held in left button until logo went off and I felt the vibration. Released button and pressed button just when logo appeared again.

3) I did this 3-4 times or until big red X appears. This is the key, you need to get to the X.

4) Watch went off and I put it back on the charger I stated the fit bit app on my phone and it recognized the Sense for the first time in two months.
5) Downloaded the new version for the sense and WOW it works again.
Note: I even put the watch in washer rinse cycle and in the dryer in a sock before this- probably not recommended but I was so frustrated!!!

I have a Fitbit sense that stopped working about a month and a half ago. I thought it was the charger so I replaced the charger with a new one from Fitbit but it still doesn't turn on or accept a charge. I was wondering if the battery is replaceable because I just don't see the product as disposable and if Fitbit does see it that way then I'll be moving on from this brand moving forward. $200 plus dollars when new is not what I consider disposable.

Did you try all of the things I did. Do not give up! Get the red X and you will be on your way. Does it show the fit bit logo?

I joined the dead Fitbit club today. Started yesterday when it went into the endless startup loop all on its own. Battery was at 93%.I tried all the restart and reboot tricks, nothing. It did this all day.

Got home and threw it back on the charger. After a while of that I checked and the startup loop had stopped. I fact everything stopped. No response pressing the power button.

Not sure what happened but there was no water involved, no hits on anything, I was just sitting and felt the startup vibration over and over. Mine lasted almost 2 1/2 years. RIP.

My guess is that your Sense stopped because it is not charged. 1) Does it indicate charging at any point in time, now.
2) Leave it on the charger for a day or two.
3) check to see if it is going in its repeat cycle,
a) if so keep doing my method until you get the red X (:cross_mark:) .
b) if not, hold left button until it turns on
4) if nothing seems to work, put in wash Rinse Cycle in washing machine ( wrap in fabric or glove to protect watch face) I put in with clothes and waited until rinse cycle to add watch. Put in dryer (wrapped) with the clothes until clothes are dry.
5) Put on charger to see if you get any response overnight.
6) start my method as indicated on previous replies.
If you would like me to try before you throw it away, send me a reply.
