How do I make the stair counter work properly? My new Sense is congratulating me on all the stairs I've taken when all I've done is walk on flat ground. Thanks!

Hi, @LieslDiesel Fitbits calculate “stairs” using a built in altimeter which detects very subtle changes in air pressure to determine if your elevation has increased by 10 feet. While this usually works pretty consistently in detecting actual stairs and hills, its sensitvity means it is easily affected by changes in air pressure from other causes. This means that if the weather is windy, or there is a storm blowing in “stairs” may be counted even on flat ground. The stair count can also be affected by a strong draft (I get lots when the train is coming through the tunnels in the London Underground) or even if someon slams a door.
For that reason many people take the stair count feature as a nice extra, but not overly concern themselves about exact accuracy. Stair counts are not included in Fitbit’s calorie calculations

Do it looks like the best answer is to turn it off or ignore it. I live in a bungalow and frequently am told I’ve done 15 flights in a day

@NigelCheltenhamSame thing will happen in a bungalow as well so it is still the correct answer
