Sense watch a flop

Sent my Ionic in due to the recall. Picked a Sense as a replacement. After one week of use:

1. Does not show any incoming calls

2. Has to be manually synched to myt phone once a day.

4. Either fails to register stairs, or says I climbed 85.

5. Weather app shows Celsius temperatures, forum suggestions don't apply to any controls I have to change it.

6. No longer shows any incoming texts.

Pros: registers steps. Battery longevity is good. Alexa is reliable. Easy to read the time.

This device is really lame. Wish I still had the Ionic.

Assume you are on a Android, Fitbit update Android app broke notifications (incoming calls and text/sms/email/calendar), if you use a previous version, it works fine, Fitbit response has been insane, to blow everything away and reinstall as if a new device, some have gotten it to work, but most have failed.

Floor count is tricky it looks like it counts 8 flights of stairs as a floor, so if you jump and get close to 8 feet you can trigger it. But it is off, if you compare to anything else, but compare day to day overtime, gets you a good average.

They released updated firmware 7.16 to fix the weather app, always has worked for me though.

Never had an issue syncing, but others have, no consistent fix for those, besides factory reset worked for some. But anytime you do that you risk bricking device.

Fitbit Ionic 72.1.15 (recalled), Fitbit Sense 128.6.17 and Pixel Watch 2 BP1A.250305.019.W8, March 2025.

There are some weird things about the Sense - but I have most of those working on my Samsung Ultra S22.

1 and 6.  For calls and Texts to come through, you need to enable "Notifications" in the settings for the Sense - but more importantly it also has to be linked to the "Sense Controls" Bluetooth connection, not just "Sense".  Also if you're using another app for texts make sure on the Notifications menu you have the correct app selected for Text Messages.

2.  I have always manually synced my Ionic and Sense when I opened the app, so I'm not sure about that one.

3.  Lol, missing

4.  My stairs seem fairly ok, though I've heard other people complain.  I know my heart rate is funky (mostly too low) on hills.

5.  To fix the Weather, go to the Gallery - click on Apps, scroll down to Weather and change the settings to Farenheit.

Good luck, hope this helps!

Thanks for your help. Some how got the "sense controls" recognized by blue tooth. Important distinction. Got the weather in Fahrenheit! By elimination of various"do not disturb settings" the watch is vibrating like the ionic.
