I am very frustrated with the Sense. It does not always synch automatically with my Samsung phone. I reboot it by pressing and holding the button but that doesn't work consistently either. I am spending way too much time trying to get this thing to do this one basic function. If I shut down from settings will I lose my data? Thanks for any help available.

@ShereeGold no, shutdown will not erase the data as they're stored in sense memory.

I had the same issue when I first got it. I set it to charge, uninstalled it, installed it and then I was able to reboot it. Your data will definitely not be lost. Hope this helps!

When I hold the button as instructed I get a message saying “set up wallet-you have no cards yet in your wallet set up now”.
Is this similar to what you were getting?

@Sharz1 and @ShereeGold it does work. You need to hold the button for at least 10 seconds as the restart instructions explain.

I've tried it numerous times for more than 10 seconds. It does not function correctly on my device. I am not the only person with this issue. It will start with the push of the button but rarely will it shut down that way.
I've had many folks try it on my Sense to insure it wasn't operator error. It is not.

Have achieved it once, all other times it presents a message about adding cards in wallet. This is not the only issue I have with this Fitbit. Two bought same day same place and this ones a dud!

The only way to shut the Sense down is through the Settings/About menu
