Six months old & has run down to zero juice and will not recharge. Have checked the electrical outlet, etc. How do I know if its the watch itself or the charging cable ? thanks

Hi there, @Phineous. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Sense. @Deoge Thank you so much for helping out!

If you haven't done so yet, please see Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

This is my 4th watch in 2 years that has similarly failed.  Once you get a replacement, even if less than a year from the purchase of the first watch, you have no recourse but to purchase a new one. (You are offered a 35% discount.) They just go dark and will not recharge.  They recently sent me a new charger, just in case, but same results.  Steps to reboot don't work - no vibration & nothing lights up.  Frustrating!  Am I emitting electric pulses that ruin Fitbit Sense watches????  Is Fitbit aware of catastrophic failures with some watches for no apparent reason??

Thanks, that was the problem, one of the pins was not making contact. Unable to re-extract it so had to buy a new charger. This is really a design flaw, they did change it for the Sense 2 but that doesn't help those of us with the original sense.

Unplug and take I pin and see if you can get it to free up

BestLifeEverBBB,

Mine each die after 10 months! I found a website that does repairs, cheaper than with discount and you can also buy the parts and do it yourself--there are YouTube videos that show you how. The batteries I've seen across the sites are about $25 to $35 USD. Make sure you can open the watch before you order the parts, you will need a heat gun or a hair dryer.

Best regards and best luck in the future,
Mou Mou

I worked with fitbit direct with my first issue and they replaced it at minimal cost to me.  Now my premium account has no way to work because I cannot charge my device. I am using a fitbit purchased charging cord too.  HELP  this device is expensive!

Yeah, it's probably the watch battery itself. Seems like they're designed to only function for a year, max of two. The more I read about it, the more I learn that to get the battery to last to, or beyond, the warranty you have to turn off many functions and be fastidious about when you charge and for how long. We live in a throw away capitalist society, the expectations set by FitBit/Google come with an asterisk and you have to read all the fine print to really understand the real world function. I'm sorry.

You have to read the how to extend your battery life instructions. The Sense is not designed to last very long under typical use, you have to change your life to fit around the Fitbit if you want it to last.

Thanks.  That will teach me not to read the fine print!  I'm trying a Rival smart watch for $50 bucks.  Even if it only last 6 months, I can buy 4 for the price of my Sense.
