Sense won't pair with Pixel 6 Pro

My Sense was displaying my usual screen, but when I tapped it to see other data (steps, whatever), I got a screen with 4 blanks at the top and a numeric keypad, which looks like a pairing code screen. It wouldn't cycle to any other data, just that screen. It was paired with my Pixel 6 pro, but like a dummy, I deleted it and now can't get it back.

When trying to re-pair my Sense to my phone I end up with both devices wanting me to enter a pairing code - neither is providing one. I've turned off bluetooth on my phone, restarted it, turned bluetooth back on, I've tried pairing them at the bluetooth level (the phone sees the sense but doesn't pair with it), I've restarted my sense many times, nothing makes any difference.

Any thoughts?

Update - Apparently the input screen on my sense was some sort of lock screen. I don't remember setting up a lock code, but on a whim, I entered my usual 4 digit pin codes and one of them made it go away.
